Question about Dell 5110cn Laser Printer

1 Answer

My problem is back (see http://www.fixya.com/support/t4550840-dell_5110cn_printing_overall_red_or). I get an overall reddish hue over the whole page and ghost images printed about five inches below the real image. I replaced the drum (althought it's only been in there for three months of light use) and the transfer unit. Still I have problems. HELP!

I went to the problem solver for the Dell 5110cn printer. Let me know if this helps diagnose the problem.

Thanks.

Dell 5110cn printer error 016-302 can you please help?

You are probably having a problem with a particular document you are trying to print. See this Dell article for help.
http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN114900/EN

I have found it is not the ESS board that is located on the back of the printer. You can pull it out and reset it into the machine to make sure it is making good contact. Before that though- it will be a lot easier if you download the firmware upgrade from there site and run it on each printer giving you a problem; that should solve your problem.

Replaced fuser on Dell 5110cn printer. How do I reset?

There is no way to reset the Dell 5110 fuser 310-8729 (also known as TD218 and other numbers)
The connector in the fuser holds the page count. If you printed 200 pages on a fuser and moved it to another printer, you'd see it follow the fuser.
You may have put a non-compatible fuser, or it may be depleted already, or there is a circuit board problem.

Need to replace transfer roller dell 51110 do no have a new one but i need to print some more pages. Can i reset the printer in any way

The answer will be in the users guide or owners manual. I am assuming that your model is 5110CN You can get that here: Dell Documentation

Look for the section about replacing the drum or transfer roller. There will be a section about resetting the page or drum counter.

Good Luck!

Dell 5110cn Color printing only printing in black and white

check in the printer properties and make sure on the color page that "print in grayscale" is not selected. This option will make the prints all in black (grayscale)....

Dell 5110 printer has a cyan ghost next to the image. Also, about a 1 inch tall cyan horizontal band that repeats about 8 or 9 times down the page. bands are evenly spaced. Any idea what's wrong?

Take a look at your printer's documentation here:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/5110cn/

Sounds like you've got maybe a drum problem -- seen in two different symptoms, but you can try to fix it:
Go to the troubleshooting section and look for the links to these instructions:
-- Fixing your registration through the menu
-- Cleaning your drum

Registration is where the printer prints each color. It sounds like your cyan is off.

The bands may be from a dirty drum.

Have you replaced the fuser?
Have you replaced the toner?
Have you order a PM KIT? Most of these kits also comes with the fuser , transfer roller. or imager?

These items above should be replaced.
