Question about Dell Latitude D610 Notebook
I'd have to assume your operating system is XP or Vista. Dell has some of the best Support for Drivers of all the manufacturers. You need a blank CD and a friend's computer for about an hour or less.
Using your friend's computer go to Dell Support and then to their "Drivers and Downloads" section. You will be given a chance to click on a button to "Enter a Service Tag Number" That number is located on the bottom of your laptop on a slender label and is always 7 characters, both numbers and letters. Enter the Service Tag# and you will be immediately routed to the Driver Download page for your laptop. At the top of the page you will have drop down box to choose your Operating System. Select the correct one and all drivers for your laptop will load onto that same page.
Now, make a "New Folder" on your friend's Desktop and name it D610. Then, proceed to select and download the drivers you need, one at a time, to that folder. When you have them all in the folder, right click on the folder and choose Copy. Go to "My Computer" and right click on the CD/DVD drive and click Paste. You will be prompted to insert the blank CD. Let the files burn to the CD and then install the drivers from the CD to your laptop in this order.

Usually, at this point you should be good to go. Connect the printer to the laptop and it may just install itself. If it doesn't, go to the Manufacturer's site for that printer, Support, Drivers, enter name of printer, locate your software, download and install it. It's always best to download the software by saving it to your desktop and then running it from there. It precludes the possibility of being in the middle of an internet install and losing your connection.
