What kind of card reader do you have? Is it compatible with SDHC cards, or only with SD cards? While an SDHC card will fit into an SD slot, it is electronically incompatible. SD cards will work in SDHC readers but not the other way around.

If you know that your CF card is working (e.g. as in your camera) then the most likely cause is your computer Flash/CF reader either inbuilt or external): older readers (and cameras/phones) will not support High Capacity (xxHC) card and will be limited to a maximum of 2GB. Hope it helps.

My computer wont read my sdhc 4g sandisk card

Not all card readers, devices and computers can read the high capacity format, however. If you are getting a read error, it could be that your reader is not SDHC compliant. If this is the case, your device should read 2GB or smaller cards, but respond with an error for larger capacity cards.

My nintendo wont read my sd card

Check the system software version for your Wii console. The Wii must be updated to version 4.0 to read SDHC cards.Remove the SD or SDHC card you wish to use for memory and verify that it is the proper capacity. Insert your SD card in a computer to check the file format you wish to use with the Wii console.

Camera reads communication error when trying to upload photos what might be the prob

I BELIEVE THE REASON IS THE TYPE OF SD CARD.
THERE ARE SD AND SDHC. IF YOU ARE USING SDHC.
I BET THE ONE CARD THAT DOESNT READ IS AN HC. THIS IS ALSO TRUE WITH OLDER CARD READERS. I HAVE AN OLDER AND NEWER CARD READER.
I JUST HAPPENED TO PUT AN OLDER SD CARD IN MY NEW POWERSHOT SD1300 AND IT READS FINE, ALL NEW CARDS SDHC WONT READ.
I BELIEVE SD IS UP TO 2GIGS AND SDHC IS 4GIGS AND HIGHER.

I cant seem to access MY SD Memory Card from my New Camera through the SD Card slot on the Front panel of My Aspire M1201 - The Green LED is on but no pop up and i cant find the correct the section to...

Newer cameras may have SDHC cards - these have a high capacity. Older computers can't read the newer SDHC cards - they can only read the old SD Cards. The SD card and SDHC cards look exactly the same. The SDHC card will probably say "SDHC" on it somewhere. Fortunately you can buy a USB SDHC card reader for a computer for around £2 on amazon. I would buy one of those. You could search the internet for "usb sdhc card reader".

A memory card in a digital camera can be read in the camera but not in the computer

My guess is that you have an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card in the camera, but the card reader attached to your computer can read only the older SD cards. SD cards that are 4GB and larger are SDHC types, and should have SDHC prominently displayed on the label. The card reader on the other hand, was probably made before the SDHC type cards were ever made.

You can find a new card reader that support the high capacity cards for under $20 in many places. Unfortunately, the older card readers can not be upgraded to read the newer cards - but the SDHC readers can read the older SD types.

I have a 4GB HC(?) card,it wont work in my computer

a 4GB card is certainly HC (High Capacity). What type of flash memory is it?

Be aware that some computers have a different boot sequence. Meaning that some will try to boot from the DVD/CD drive before the hard drive, some will try to boot from a USB device before those. The card being present in the drive could be telling the computer to try and boot from that (which I'm 99% sure is the problem there).

Next is the issue with the card being read. Until I know what type of flash memory it is (SD - Secure Digital, CF - CompactFlash, etc..) this is speculation. I know with SD there is standard SD and SDHC (SD High Capacity). Older card readers are only capable of reading standard SD cards and while they will acknowledge the existance of SDHC because it is the same form factor, it won't know how to read it.

Sd Card reader not recognising SDHC cards

When You Insert your SD card into the internal card reader, then the SD card is not recognised by the system and the SD card drive doesn't show there. The problem can be because of driver issue, system issue and device issue.
To fix the problem you need to go at device manager if there is a yelllow sign in SD card controller, the problem is most probably caused by a driver issue. Then you need to update the driver. You can also download the driver for your card reader.
Also, check if your SD Card is broken. You can also check it into different devices port.
If it is detected then you can backup of your data.

If the problem not resolved by any means and you require you SD Card data then I will suggest you read - https://www.stellarinfo.co.in/services/removable-media-recovery.php

Memory card error

I think I know this one. This camera cannot read SDHC (High Capacity) memory cards - it can only read regular SD cards. Try using a standard SD card and see what happens.
