I have a 1965 0r 66 1020 3 cyl gas engine. It will run flawless for up to an hour and then start to falter but will almost always recover without stopping. even when it might stop, it starts right up again. I have installed a new coil, condenser, plugs, fuel pump, carb is a very new rebuilt but I took it off and cleaned and checked it, nothing wrong checked all wires with an ohm meter. Blew out all fuel lines with comp air took off the gas cap nothing helps. I have worked on engines all my life even though I am not a mechanic and I can not solve this problem. I have mechanic friends and they don't have any idea's either. Any help would surely be appreciated. Thank you

I have a JD 3 cylinder gas 1520 that had a very similar sounding problem. Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter inside the connection of the fuel line to the carb. An old time JD mechanic fixed it for me the first time and I have since cleaned it again after a dry dusty mowing season. I hope this helps.

Ran out of gas in 2003 trailblazer runs rough ever since and poor fuel milage

I show a fuel filter for the 8 cyl engine so I assume there is one for the 6 cyl too. Around 2004 or 2005 GM stopped using replaceable filters.
I would start with replacing the filter and running a few cans of injector cleaner thru the gas. You may have picked up some dirt from the bottom of the tank.

Same the above with my 2000 cherokee sport 6 cyl. Check engine light came on and motor vibrated and ran ROUGH, I checked the exhaust for smoke, oil for anti freeze, both negative. Light started flashing so...

all are very possible but you can go to any chain auto parts to get your codes read especially if your light was flashing this indicates serious trouble once you have the codes its easier to help you but it sounds like a misfire to me meaning bad spark plug, wire or coil.

My 8n (6 volt) will not start. Great spark getting

Spark to plugs is great?.....but if they are black (carbon coated) it may not start.
Crank her over and use that choke for 30 seconds.
Pull the plugs ...are they wet with gas?Smell it....is it water or gas.
They should be wet with something.
Are they dry.........No fuel.

If they are wet with gas and NOT black carbon coated and you are SURE you have spark..........time to tow it to start.
You want to turn the engine fast enough to have the crank throw oil onto the cyl walls. Engines need a oil coated cyl wall to run....to seal the rings. The gas from flooding the engine washes the oil away.Put it back and it should fire up.After the first start...it should be OK.
I've started many a engine that others could not start (flooded or sitting for years) with a little oil in each cyl to seal it.....but towing is the better choice if possible.

151 4 cyl , runs for 20 min perfect then starts bucking and seems like its starving for fuel and wants to stall. let it sit for half hour and its fine, starts right up. i suspect carb. malfunction have...

Could be carb but you should also look and make sure the fuel supply line is not running near the exhaust manifold or anywhere it could experience high temps as it may be boiling the gas in the line and could be "vapor locking" the fuel line. After it cools, the vapor dissipates and the unit has plenty of liquid gas then. Also check the manual fuel pump if it has one and make sure it is not faulting. The diaphragm could be getting weak and the engine heat could be causing it ti get soft and lose it's ability to draw fuel. Good Luck!
