Hi, If you mean clipping on/off to be cutting out, then there are a few causes for this.
1) overloading the output circuits.
2) speaker wires shorting to earth/each other.

Try running 1 set of speakers at a time.

P.S. giving us a little more information will help profusely i.e amplifier capabilities, how you have the speakers connected. etc.

Hi, I was trying to replace my subs and during the process, the positive wire touched the negative wire and my amp turned off. I have the Punch 801s 2400 watt amp. Is there a way to reset it? I'm assuming...

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Your amp is clipping. A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. GOD BLESS YOU.

I have a 2800 watt and it is not louder than my 600 watt. What's my problem and how can I fix it. Thank you.

What are the exact model numbers of those amps? More than likely your 2.8K Watt amp is a complete lie, very few amps can deliver that power, if you paid under $1000 for it it's probably not likely to ever do that output, also some amps are rated at higher input voltages like 19 volts or more to achieve there advertised output but even then most will only do a fraction of what they claim. At 12volts and making those claims you'll find that Boss is a prime example so is the low end Lanzar along with many others out for sale now a days. A 2800 watt MAX amp rating is really a 150 watt x 2 output and that will be at 2 ohms, I'm not sure how it all started but way back when (back in the late 80's early 90's) there were only amps that had real power ratings and they were 25watts x 2 up to 200 watts x2 and the 25 watt amps were louder than most of these 1000watt amps you see now. A true 200 watt x 2 amp bridged in mono back then would deliver 800Watts into 4 ohms 1600 watts into 2 ohms and cost about a dollar a watt. The 25 watt x 2 amps I had would put out 400 watts in mono at 1 ohm. So you see power ratings now are just not even anything you can use unless the amp is certified to be compliant with the new car stereo rating system. Even then I cannot guarantee which amp will be louder or sound better without actually connecting it up and hearing it myself. That's how car stereo shopping used to be, you listened to the amps all side by side and realized that size, cost and power ratings make no difference until you hear the amps, then size & cost are considered. Power ratings are then forgotten all together.

I have a Punch 800a2 amp and tommorrow im getting the Polk Audio db1222. so my question is do i need a different amp or should this be sufficiant. 12" 2 Ohm db Series Subwoofer Power Handling: Peak:...

Not sure if you are getting two subs or single?

Anyways, amp is rated at 800 watts and probably under rated so it will push sub. Remember that you don't need to worry about max power, rather focus on RMS power rating.

Need to know how many ohms this amp is

Safe down to 2 ohms, NOT a 1 ohm stable amp, it will be pushing it hard even at 2ohms but Fosgate's should be able to handle it providing that the install and all cables, wire, connections, etc. are sanitary!
Good Luck !

I have a behringer 1500 watts amp that is clipping

What is happening is that your amp can deliver 1500 Watts at a given impedance. The Sub PROBABLY is a higher impedance. Your amp runs out of voltage due to the speaker impedance, hence it "flat tops" or clips.

You will probably find the sub is 8 ohms and your amp might deliver 1500 Watts on a 2 ohm system (this is "specsmanship" to sell their product... more is better thing...

If your amp was as above, the max voltage output would be the same before clipping but with the resistance 4 times, the current is only one fourth that which would deliver 1500 Watts. So you would only get 1500/4 Watts into the speaker or about 375 Watts.

What kind of noise it will bang or should i go with class d amps

If you run a pair of subs to each amp at a 4ohm bridged load per amp you will get the full power of the amps delivered to your subs-roughly 450 watts per sub as punch amps are all under rated-that sh%&t gonna bump hard - thats an incredible setup from an equipment standpoint- i run 1600watts on a pair of 15z and its freaking obnoxiously LOUD and yours will be moving more air than my 15s so it should be just mind numbing - go for it !!!!!!!!

Speaker amplifier calculation

for $85 i can sell you an Almani 900 watt 2 channel amp i would stay way away from those 3 brands they are all really poor quality and i can get you any major name brand cheaper.
I can get you a hifonics 4008 amp (800 watts peak 100 watts per channel rms) for $100 shipped with full factory warranty. you find an amp you like and i will get you a price. I am a factory wholesale distributor for most brands.
