Userinit.exe application error

Hi again:

I would suggest that you may have a virus / spyware infection that has infected this windows file.

If you can boot into SAFE Mode ( reboot the computer) and when the screen goes to the black background with white writing start pushing F8 - keep doing so until you get a screen that gives you a list of things you can do -
ie:
restart windows normally
safe mode
safe mode w/networking

use the arrow keys on the keyboard and choose to boot into safe mode.- may take a couple of minutes

once there i would suggest running virus / antispyware scans as well as running a BOOT SCAN (a type of virus scan that scans the hard drive before it gets into windows)

NOTE on running virus/spyware scans - ALWAYS QUARANTINE the file infected - DO NOT DELETE - if you delete a critical windows system file you will cause windows to completely crash and in that instance you would have to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything.

Tip

Login into safe mode.

You can use safe mode for a number of things...
Uninstalling programs that refuse to unistall in normal login;
Performing a system restore;
Scanning for dangerous viruses and Trojans;
and so many other things.
How ever, you can not install programs in safe mode because the installer is disabled.
In safe mod, you sound and graphics cards are also disabled, so you cant listen to anything or play video games.

To start your system in safe mode:
1. restart your system.
2. During system restart, press F8 before your Operating System (OS) is loaded, before the OS logo is displayed.
3. A list of options will be displayed, which include "Start Windows Normally","Safe Mode" among other options.
4. Select safe mod and press enter.
5. Give it a few seconds for safe mode to start, then log into your administrator account to start using safe mode.

I cant remember my password

Hi arjaan823...
Try this solution to your problem

Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Everytime i boot up i get an error message stating that there was a boot failure and it loads in safe mode then it prompts me to buy some software to repair my netbook

Sounds like a combination of 2 things.
  1. Machine has contracted a virus.... On startup, the machine would never prompt you to buy anything unless it's infected with a virus or malware.
  2. Corrupted bootlog....Any boot failure is usually due to a corrupted bootlog. This can be for a variety of reasons ie improper shutdown, bad battery, or what I think is the case here is a virus or malware.
If possible, boot directly into safe mode (tapping F5 key while booting). From there you can try different options ie Last known good configuration, run memory test, system restore. If you can't run your anti-virus package in safe mode, you may need to attempt a system restore, preferably to a point just prior to where you picked up the virus.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials from the microsoft web site. This will enable you to get rid of most viruses. For more comprehensive protection you can try AVG antivirus from free.grisoft.com.

I'm in safe mode becuase my computer has a big huge virus and i'm new to computers can you help me? the virus is geting in to my safe mode!!! it is so bad that in normal mode i cant open anything becuase...

see if you can download and install the program here:
http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody;1d

this is freeware from a safe site and it does pretty good with the trojan (fake AV?) you have.
if it will not run, try moving the executable file to a flash drive and rename it "iexplore.exe" to make it run

PC keeps restarting itself. Trying to log on to my pc ,get to first vista page to choose my account and it restarts. Cant get as far as the start up button to do anything.

Reboot in safe mode (at very first manufacturers start-up screen, press and hold F8, choose "Boot in Safe Mode". When prompted, you can either a) System Restore to an earlier date, or B) load and then run anti-virus software. I would suggest updating your virus definitions first, then running a comprehensive virus scan BEFORE trying the System Restore (many re-boot issues are code-executed, and are usually because of a virus). If you need to do a restore, pick a date well before the problem occured, as is may be an older issue than just the re-boot problem!

Hope this helps!
