Probably the waste ink absorber is past full. (Most printers have a counter that will lock the unit when you approach this point. So if you did a counter reset, it is more common.)

The waste ink absorber is a pair of pads inside little plastic surrounds. The manufacturers recommend replacing the printer at this point (since under normal use the rest of the printer will probably fail soon).

If you disassemble the printer you may be able to reach the pads and clean them. Have lots of newspaper available. The pads are on the edges of the paper path below the print head. So carefully take apart the printer (often small screws hold the print head and it just needs to be moved out of the way). Then put them under running water until the water runs clean. Blot the excess ink from inside the printer. Then let everything dry (a blow dryer can speed the process up if you are careful). Finally reassemble the printer.

A bad cartridge (non-HP most often) or powering down the printer daily can also cause excess ink in the printer that would overflow.

I hope this helps.

(I don't know the waste ink counter reset for this printer; Epson requires a serial number to download a reset utility.)

How do I fix Leaking Ink

Your ink leak does not seem too serious, and from the look of the photo it is more likely just to be back spray from the cleaning mechanism. If ink is actually pooling in the cleaning station or flooding the printer, you may have a loose or damaged ink line. Of more interest is the error code, for that have a look at the link.

Description of Solution 200000017618
Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic ink or refill their Brother ink cartridges. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability since the ink formulation in genuine Brother ink cartridges prevent smearing and clogging of the print head. The Brother limited warranty does not apply to any problem that was caused by the use of unauthorizedthird party ink and/or cartridges.

If the ink cartridge is new and has not been installed into the machine, please do not install the ink cartridge. Place the ink cartridge back into the ink cartridge packaging and call the Brother Customer Service Department at 1-800-284-4329 for assistance.

If the ink cartridge has been installed into the machine and ink has leaked inside the machine, do not remove the ink cartridge from the machine.

Please contact Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 7:00pm EST, excluding holidays.

My cannon MP830 is leaking back ink. Is there

Take out the black cart and have a look at the top surface - you'll probably find that the label has torn back too far. This lets too much air into the top of the cart and consequently the ink is free to run out of the bottom.
You'll most likely have to throw that cart and get a new one. Clean the inside of the printer with kitchen roll, making sure you get as much ink out from the area where the head parks at the side.

Backflow of ink

What do you mean by backflow? Is the ink coming out of the top of the cartridge as that's the only back there is.
Do you really mean that ink is leaking inside the printer?

I dont know how to clean the leaking cartridges

ink don't leak when the pressure equalizes (inside against outside pressure) ... anyway to make things simple, if you are using a syringe for refilling, **** back a small amont of ink untl leak stops.

HP DeskJet 930c is leaking black ink

The printer primes and cleans the cartridges when the cartridges go to the right side of carriage. Sounds like a cartridge has either leaked or you have used it enough the the ink pool is full, or you have layed the printer on its side or back. From experence, if ink is leaking out of the printer, your probley better off getting anithe printer. I have tried to take the covers off and clean inside print, and it is a messy job.

Leaking Printer with the MAC

Please confirm that your printer is a C86. Where did the leak come from? If you are not sure, place a thick wad of newspaper or other absorbent material on the floor and put your printer on it. Tip the printer on its back. Does ink now start to come out from the long joint along the back. If LOTS of ink comes out, it means your waste ink compartment is flooded, and I suspect ink has got into your power supply and shorted something. Please report back; the situation sounds bad, but might be retrievable.

Ink keeps leaking from the printer!

The problems you are experiencing are due to ink buildup in the ink absorbers that reside in the base of the printer. I'm surprised that you did not get a "ink absorber almost full" message. Unfortunately this occurs when more ink (heavy printing) goes in to this area than the ink absorbers can absorb and the ink starts to build up. An ink waste tube feeds in to the absorbers right in the front middle of the printer. When the ink begins to build up, it comes up through the paper platen there in the front causing the ink problems on the back of your paper.

The machine will need to be serviced. Canon suggest replacing all of the ink absorbers which is the easiest thing to do from a Tech perspective. The last machine I had in with this problem, I tore down machine and just rinsed all of the absorbers. You also have to rinse the underside of the paper platen.

Color ink leaking

Are you using a refilled ink catridge,
If yes then please use a geniune HP Ink catridge.
Even if you are not using a refilled or Non HP Cartridge try these steps:
Take out both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One and unplug the power cable from the printer aswell as the wall outlet.
With a lint free cloth and little drinking water soke the lint free cloth it only needs to be moistioned clean the ink cartidges and the internal area on the All-In-One with the cloth and wipe off the ink from the printer and make sure it is all clean and dry (if you need more cloth do it untill it is clean).
Then insert cartridges back to the All-In-One make sure you do not touch the metal contacts, close the access door and plug the power cable diretly to a wall outlet with out a surg protector and then plug it back to the All-In-One and check.

Good Luck
