Yes there are two capacitors and some times have stored electricty in them. you can get them from a RV parts store or you can take them off and have them matched at a electrical parts supply store. the MF is the important number on the capacitor to match.

Is it safe to use a soft/hard start capacitor on my new Dometic Penguin 11,000 btu A/C ....Model # 640312.30X

No, the capacitor is not integral to the load of the generator, it is only used to start it when it turns on. It takes virtually no voltage from the system to recharge itself. The demand of the unit is not related to a start capacitor. Also it will not harm your unit to install one capacitor over another, they make them so if the connectors fit, they work. Just hook up the leads correctly so you don't discharge it on yourself.

I have a Dometic 13500 BTU AC. The fan runs but will not cool?

Sounds like it's low on refrigerant, if you haven't used it for a while they normally leak at the compressor shaft seal

My rooftop A/C on my fifthwheel does not turn on.

Good possibility it has a fan capacitor gone, but a voltage/ohm, check would be required, and if your not experienced in that area, can be VERY DANGEROUS, if you don't know how to handle them as capacitors can zap you with high voltages (approx, 370- 450 volts) even when disconnected from power. If you know an electrician, that would certainly help.

I have a Duo-Therm 57915 (13500 BTU) that frosts up the bottom 1/4 of the coil and shows signs of a freon leak on the copper tubing (oily substance). I assume I have a freon leak. It a 2006 unit. Is it...

Buy a new one. Your repair will cost approx 2/3rd (or more) the price of your new unit. Your old unit has no warranty left while your new unit will have a warranty. :-)

I have a 13500 btu ac dometic penguin model on pan that is old and would like to replace with 15000 btu ac of any other manufacturer or another dometic what are my options ..I do not have ducts and do not...

Your choices are another Dometic or a Coleman
I prefer the Coleman But the amount of extra cooling you will get by stepping up to a 15K unit will probability not be worth the added cost

Heat strip installation

It was quite simple, just installing the heat strip and my model only required removing the grill cover and mounting the element. The other optional installations didn't apply to my model.

thanks,

Dometic a/c, duotherm thermostat, turns right back on after it reaches desired temperture.

I have a dometic 13500 BTU Roof mount a/c. It is set up with the duo-therm analog thermostat. The system cools fine. The problem is that the a/c gets down to the right temp, then it turns off like it should but turns right back on within a few seconds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
