Activate the WPA2 protection and use a truly random generated password, then activate the MAC filtering and allow only your pc's.

Trying to connect a Samsung secutity system to the cable modem, through a linsys router. not have any luck operating on XP windows. I setup network with a static address. Do tou have a step By -Step,...

Win XP has nothing to do with it.
As you said you have a fixed ip for the router. Now you need to map the incoming requiest to the local ip address of the dvr. It is called Virtual server.

It would be pvc0/1 mapped to TCP/IP port 80 of the local ip address of the dvr.

Hope this helps. Write to me if you need more assistance.

I have a wt54-g broadband router. when trying to go wirless everything went through fine except 1 problem it says cannot connect to the internet. Any way to solve this?

Unplug house connection or router for 30 seconds, then do the linsys for 10 seconds and plug back in. This should reset everything to work correctly. If needed, reset ip address on your pc. Set up home network if necessary.

Linksys router

If your trying to secure you network, then in your web browser type (private address used by Linsys) and press enter.

It will prompt you for user name and password to access your router settings. By defult both username and password are "admin". Don't type quotes.

Once your in, you can secure you network with a password.
