LCD TV and VGA output

I have an Element FLX-3202 32" LCD TV. I can get the VGA cable connection to work with my old (Dell Inspiron 4100) laptop, but not the newer laptops that we have. When I try the newer computers, the screen flickers and tries to connect, and at one point (with myMacbook) it said "not compatible." All I get is ablue screen and "no input" up in the corner. I triedfiddling with the resolution settings on the newer windows laptop, butnothing. I'm not finding much on-line because it's such a little-knownbrand. Any suggestions?

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop and tried connecting to my Panasonic TV using VGA cable, since the laptop doesnt have got an S-video port. The TV starts flickering everytime I connect my laptop. I tried all the resolution and refresh rate properties in laptop.
I connected successfully another laptop (HP) using S-video and it worked fine.
Please let me know if the problem is with my sony Laptop or the VGA cable. How can I make it work using the VGA cable?

The resolution and refresh rates have to match exactly to the TV for it to work correctly with the computer.

The newer computers are using much faster refresh rates by default. Their default resolution is also different.

Consult the manual for the TV and see if the computer's external monitor output can be set to match to what the TV exactly requires. Both the refresh rate and resolution are critical.

How torun a flat panel hd lcd tv on a dell 531s

Please check the input ports on the LCD TV and the output ports on the computer's video card. You need to have a proper cable (VGA, HDMI or DVI) to connect your computer with your LCD TV. Later you need to select your TV's input mode.

How can i connect my dell inspiron 1721 to my tv samsung led

If your Samsung TV has a VGA input then connect a VGA cable to the TV and the other end of this cable to the video port on your Dell laptop. Turn on your TV and select the VGA (computer) input then boot up your Dell laptop.and then the video data from the laptop will automatically divert to the TV.
You can toggle between the TV and laptop LCD screen by holding down on the Fn key and press the F8 key.

How can i connect my vga dell laptop inspiron to a rca sanyo old model tv

claytonward,

You need a converter to connect. At the links below are some resolutions that I found doing a google search.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

That would convert the VGA output to RCA input... then you just need a 3.5mm to RCA left/right audio cable...

http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Audio-Cable...
Like that one... to connect the headphone jack to the audio inputs on your TV.

Thank You,

What do I need to connect between my Mini Dell Inspiron to my LCD projector

That netbook has just a VGA output so only a VGA cable will work - your projector must have a VGA input, check that since very few new ones still have it.

Most laptops have 3 video-display options:
* output only to internal LCD screen
* output only to external VGA port
* output to both LCD and VGA

Hold down the blue 'FN' key on your keyboard, and look at the BLUE labels on/above the 12 'F' keys. One of those Function-keys can be used to "toggle" through the above 3 display modes.

Multiple vertical screens at startup (dell inspiron 4100)

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop (15 pin VGA connector). If the display appears normal on the external monitor then you have an issue with your laptop's LCD display. If the external monitor also has vertical screens then your video circuit on the laptop has a problem.

Connecting dell mini inspiron with LCD with HDMI cable on both si

You just need a HDMI cable to go from the laptop to the TV. It is refered to as a patch cable. You then go into the TV menu and set it to component or in some cases it will say computer. The VGA on the TV just allows both style interfaces to be connected.

Connecting Dell Inspiron 1501 to TV, Windows Vista

The PC card you have doesnt appear to work with that adaptor. Dell Has its own Svideo / Video output adaptors.

You need a converter not an adaptor. Try looking on Amazon for this: ITV-900 PC to TV Converter
