Question about Amana ASD2328HE Side by Side Refrigerator
We were dispensing ice and when we were done the ice dispenser kept dispensing. We changed it to water and water came out. We checked the dispense button and it is not depressed. When the door is open it stops but as soon as the door is closed again it starts. We have the dispenser lock on know and it is stopped but if we remove the dispenser lock it starts dispensing again. I tried to unpluf the fridge and then plug it back in with no luck the dispenser kept running. How do I get the dispenser to stop? My model number is an amana ARSE664BW.
Either the paddle for the ice/water dispenser is stuck or you have a bad microswitch behind the dispenser.
To stop the ice/water from dispensing open the freezer door and press or hold the child lock button down. Once the unit is in child lock mode you can shut the door without energizing the dispenser.
Another option is to remove the upper freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the wire connector up there. This will remove voltage from the dispenser as well. Then either replace the paddle or switch. Sometimes the paddles/switches will get stuck because of splash up from ice dropping in sugary drinks.

Are the water inlet / outlet correctly fitted onto the filter ??
Sounds silly - but very easy mistake seen several times.
Is the water supply for the filter turned on . . remove hoses from filter to verify. - YOU WILL GET WET.

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

Ok, I show parts that are available for that model, sounds like the control board is defective for your dispenser, or possibly the Ice maker control board. It also could be a break in the wiring or the control itself. Below is a break down for those parts, wiring and the control behind the push to dispense ice or water. Hope it is not that control because some places don't provide that part. Now if it's a connection problem that we can find, I will do mu best to help you solve this.Could you insure the model number is correct as this is very important? email@example.com
