Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have tried every way I could think of to reduce the width of my screen when reading my emails (in Yahoo). I have to constantly arrow left or right. The obvious Options button does not let me do it, and I have tried setting defaults, etc. Is there an easy way to fix this? Thanks

Try setting the monitor/screen to a different percentage - as in DPI, or adjust font size, percentage.

Of course, this requires that you be using at least Vista or Windows 7 at the very least.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

try moving the arrow over towards the edge slowly and see if it changes from a pointer to a double ended arrow
if it does the right click and hold down and move the column border right or left to get a change of column size.

My wife has an HP Desktop using Windows 7 and email client of ATT and Yahoo

This may work for you: Along the top of Yahoo email, you will see buttons Delete, Reply, etc. There is a button in the row with 3 rectangles and a drop down arrow. click on the button and change the setting to "Page by Page (classic". After Yahoo email resets, go in and select the button again to get the style you want.

Another approach may be to sign out of yahoo email, restart the web browser and see if the problem is resolved.

My yahoo mail is working, i can recieve messages.. But I cannot see it as a whole on my screen. When I click on Inbox, the messages should appear on the right side right??.. But the only thing that i could...

Try to reset the Reading Pane. On the Yahoo Mail header (next to 'Delete', 'Reply', 'Forward', etc.) Click the arrow next to 'View' and fiddle with the settings in there - I think it is "Preview Pane" or "Reading Pane".

I can't read my yahoo mail because when I'm in yahoo the first "column" stretches the entire width of the screen. So, the slider is at the very right of the screen. Any ideas? Steph

Most netbooks have 1024 x 600 pixel display. While there are certainly a few exceptions, most Windows apps can run reasonably well at that resolution and most web pages are viewable with a minimal amount of scrolling. But for some reason, Yahoo Mail isn't one of them. For the past few years, every time I've tried to check my Yahoo Mail account using a netbook, I've been greeted with a message suggesting I use the "classic" interface instead of the newer, more streamlined version.

Unfortunately, like the previous version of Yahoo Mail, the new Beta suggests a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 - which means most netbooks are left out. Rather than acknowledge the fact that this is a common resolution and maybe Yahoo's coders should tweak the site to work within it, Yahoo Mail Beta instead pops up an error message when you try to visit with a netbook browser, suggesting you adjust your screen resolution in your computer's display settings - even though many netbooks don't really offer the option.

Also it can be a Yahoo Mail version.

To switch from the All-New Yahoo! Mail to Yahoo! Mail Classic, in the upper-right portion of the All-New Yahoo! Mail screen, from the Options menu, select Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic.
