Considering I'm reckoned to be "Mr Fix-It Genius" for most pieces of electronics, I have to confess an embarrassing problem: how is the case/housing opened on the AOC LM727 Monitor 'cos I can't see any screws on mine ?

    I have a similar flickering-then-of scren problem.

First take off the speakers. you'll see the cable for the speaker. in this slot u can put a screwdriver an pulloff the silver front carefully. then you will see the screws at the top and the buttom. but its better to take off the stand before removing the front. there are 4 screws behind a cover right near the stand. without removing the stand u wont be able to remove the display/electronic

How did you do to open the AOC LM727? There are no screws on the back or sides on it. One can remove the black speakers part on the bottom of it (three screws visible if ju bend the speakers backwards a little) but that doesn¨t open any solutions for opening the rest of the monitor.

My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Change the monitor and check if the PC works. If it works then the problem is with the monitor, you will have to send it to repair. If not then, the problem should be with the power supply, check whether all the cables is kept intact.

try looking for bloated caps, check all diodes... see if its not shorted/leaking and finally check the power regulator ic if its not shorted! note: some capacitors and diodes are very tiny, you should use a lens with good amount of light...

if it does not help..... well, what the hell? try pouring some gas, then light it up! that should solve the problem, at least it turned on right? hehehehe!

I've had a very similar issue on many Dell Monitors. Mine have been under warranty and they usually send me a new monitor, but I believe the issue lies with the power supply within the monitor.
