Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems to be an issue with the timer that has gone bad, they don’t often fail but if everything else is working fine then it is the Timer that has gone bad and needs to be replaced. If the timer appears to be working fine then the issue is with the heating element which is not heating up water and as the water is unable to reach a higher temperature the unit stops at heating cycle i.e. rinse... To resolve this issue you’ll have to repair the heating system problem. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My 17352 Kenmore dishwasher runs for an hour or more. Can this be adjusted?

There are wash, rinse, and dry cycles that all take time. Cycle settings allow you to vary this. For example, potscrubber mode will take longer than normal wash. You can opt for no heat drying to shorten the cycle, but then the dishes will be wet and can have possible spotting. Experiment with the controls and find the settings that give you the results you want in the least amount of time. But just FYI, an hour isn't that long for a dishwasher to cycle - many run longer than that.

I've just bought the new LG Direct Drive, the problem is when I put it on ECO cycle it takes 3hrs 28 min to complete a cycle. Is this normal, I was under the impression a cycle should be about 30 min

Make sure that the water inlet pressure is good and there is no restriction ,
Now it is normal that the wash cycle is long as the dishes are put into and set to be done overnight.
But it will be good to clarify if the ECO wash takes so long as 31/2 hours, which could be fine with a high level wash.
Call LG Dealer to confirm as the set is new.

I have a bosch dishwasher shu6805uc/u06 to long to wash.

Well not going into the dry cycle could be a timing issue or a EOC (control panel) issue and will need to be addressed. But most dishwashers these days have a active run time during normal cycle of 110 to 120 mins, and thats not including the heated dry feature. I would let the unit run and see if it will finish on its own, and if I say it pushes two and half hours then something is wrong. A tech would most likely have to look at it, also a power reset could help but thats like a 30% chance.

How long should it take for a normal wash and heated dry on a whirlpool dish washer. Is 3 hours normal?

TOO LONG- 1.5 / 2 HOURS IS NORMAL

CHECK YOUR FILL TIMES SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES PER FILL

PUT THE DRAIN HOSE INTO THE SINK OR A BUCKET TO MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAR

FAULTY HEATER WILL ALSO MAKE THE CYCLE TOO LONG

The washing cycle takes 2 hours to complete

Make sure the sani cycle is not selected, or pots and pans, also with the dry cycle most will take about 2 hours, if your dishes are not that dirty use the short cycle. Be sure your water is at least 130 F. Run hot water at faucet before starting the machine.

How long should a normal wash cycle take on the whirlpool duet?

One hour and 10 minutes is normal for your washer. All front load washers take a long time. They wash a lot better than top loaders. So to answer your question.. yes its normal.

Normal wash cycle is as follows..

Wash1 8 min
Rinse1 10 min

Rinse 10 min
Rinse 12.5 min
Dry(hot or cool) 23.5 min

Total of 85 min

thats just a normal cycle. Pots and pan cycle is of course longer

Wash cycle

momrules, it could vary depending on the water entering the dishwasher. On a heavy cycle normal time is about 85 minutes not including thermal holds ( pauses that heat the water). On a normal wash, 68 to 75 minutes not including thermal holds. If the water entering the dishwasher is not at least 120 to 140 degrees the dishwasher will pause in cycles to heat the water before advancing. So 120 minutes is not unrealistic. The heaters in the dishwasher are low wattage and will only heat the water approx. 2 degrees every 5 minutes. Catriver.

Dishwasher not drying

I've recently had the same problem. My theory (to be confirmed) is that the heating element is not working properly (in my case not at all). This may be the element itself or the control for the element. This, I think, may account for the machine running for so long - it is waiting for the water to reach operating temp before timing the wash cycle. This also explains why the dishes do not dry. I aim to investigate this theory over the weekend !!
