Hello,

You cannot, because you need to know some basic things like, this is manufacturer design and an in built refrigerator with factory specification. the fridge compartment receive it coolness from the freezer freon, the freezer is the house that supply the fridge compartment cool air that makes the fridge compartment cool, so to disconnect the freezer freon from the fridge, where will the fridge compartment receive freon from?

I advice you just get only fridge compartment if that is what you need instead of damaging the one you have at the moment.

Take care.

This is a compact fridge, haier BC-111, and the lines are separate. I thought the model was at the top when I sent the message over. It has a tiny freezer compartment that is leaking.

One of the freezer lines was punctured while defrosting.

SOURCE: the freezer compartment on my under counter fridge

I'm not sure about yours but on most the fridge compartment gets it's cold from the freezer so you can't run it separately.

SOURCE: I have a hole in

Bill, unfortunately it is not a cheap fix. At least $100 for the freezer coil; about $40-50 for the freon charge and then labor and that will run at least $100 more and probably twice that. It is NOT something that a DIYer can do, it will have to be a trained technician. Usually for the cost of a service call a technician will give you an exact estimate. But some companies will give you a ballpark estimate over the phone for no charge.

Sorry Guy! I don't like to give bad news!

Lack of freon isn't an issue. Check the internal fan between the freezer and fridge. It is usually located behind the back panel in the freezer. If not there, check upper back of fridge. The internal fan blows the cold air from the freezer to the fridge. When it goes out, the freezer will freeze but the fridge won't cool.

That is the suction line which carries refrigerant (freon) and indicates a sealed system problem which must be attended to by an EPA "Certified" Technician.

Hi, both compartment of the refrigerator (freezer & fridge) not freezing and getting cold means you have low or empty freon (gas) in the compressor of the refrigerator and you need to refill it as soon as possible.

Take care

At first the freezer wasn't freezing and the fridge part was getting cold, now it's reversed, the fridge is not getting cold and the freezer does...It does runs, could it be freon?

Turn the freezing unit down to the lower number, and the fridge compartment up to about 7 or 8.Leave it over night to balance.

Both Freezer & Fridge compartments not cooling

clean the coil behind the fridge or under the fridge (where ever they are) and make sure both fans are running, the one in the freezer and the one underneath. If that don't work you may be low on freon change fan motor

IF THE COMPRESSOR IS COMING ON AND OFF IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, YOU MAY HAVE A BAD START DEVICE(RELAY) ON THE COMPRESSOR. IF THE COMPRESSOR RUNS FOR FIVE MINUTES OR MORE, CHECK THE FAN NEAR THE COMPRESSOR AND THE COILS
UNDER THE REFRIGERATOR. IF THINGS SEEM EXTREMELY
HOT, CLEAN THE COILS AND MAKE SURE THE FAN IS RUNNING. IF IT IS ALL O.K. YOU MAY HAVE A LEAK IN THE SEALED SYSTEM( TUBING WHERE THE FREON FLOWS).
THAT WOULD REQUIRE A CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN LICENSED TO HANDLE FREON TO MAKE REPAIRS.
