Very loose lens 75-300mm canon zoom

If it is loose on the camera mount, try to avoid using it. If it causes your camera mount to distort, then you won't have much luck with any other lenses!
If it is "loose" meaning: it rattles and there's a bit of play in the 'barrel'...yuuup - get used to it. She's an oldie but a goodie.

My camera is zooming in and one edge of the lenses is higher than the other one

Due to regular dropping it internal parts seem to have become loose and thus are not in control. Try getting it checked it at the service center to change the loose parts

E:61:00 on sony cybershot camera

The symptoms of this error is
  • After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  • Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  • Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  • Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.

To solve this
Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.
If that doesnt fix it, try this:
Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed

See the following video, It may also help you

Your Rating As Four Thumbs which are given below to this solution will appreciate me
Thanks and Keep using Fixya

My lens is locked and i cannot zoom

I had the same problem with the same lens. Over a few months it got lose, eventually getting so sloppy that it dropped if my 40D was held down. 10 days ago it jammed and the zoom was locked. I sent it to Canon and received it back in a week and it is now like new. Please don't try and fix it leave it to the experts at Canon. Not sure what the cost was as mine was still just under warranty
I think that this is a common problem with this lens and beleive that something in the lense works loose and eventually drops into the mechanism.

Zoom is stuck

There is a reasonable common fault where screws internally come loose and cause the zoom to jam - you will need to get the lens serviced.

My Canon EFS 17-85 MM is locked at the 17 MM position (although it doesn't have a "locked" feature. What is the problem?

Try taking the lens off AF mode and manually turning it and trying to focus. If that doesn't help then it sound like you have an internal fault.

The zoom ring has stucked

The fact that you have been in older lenses make this a bit easier. These newer ones are modular.

The circuitry is the most sensitive part, make notes or take a picture of how all the connections are made. Most of the flexible connections are fairly straight forward.

Once you get the lens down to removing the outer barrels, you'll likely find that a zoom guide or two have come undone or are damaged. These are small nylon rollers with a fat screw in the center.

Being that it is winter, static may be a problem. Don't zap the brains of the lens

I'll keep an eye on my email notices, I cannot do live chat since I use a Macintosh most of the time.
