Xerox Workstation Pro 2128 saying communication problem encountered and we hav eswitch off and switch on again several times and still same problem & mesage appeared. Befor ethat we have a drum cartridge A! also which is empty as well as the transfer roller which is at 0. Will it after changing this it will work or not. Thank you to reply us urgently.

    Thank you for your reply. WHat if after changing the Drum A1 the problem still arises.

    Here when we switch on and switch off the problem still continues

    Hi Infact in the Xerox Pro C 2128, we cannot access the controlpanel at all as it only display onthe small screen "communication problem encountered" is this normal? Normally when the Drum Cartridge is empty you can still print and you can still access the control whereas now not. You just see the Xerox logo on the small screen then it continues to loan and after a while you just see a white box appears saying "communication problem encountered". Please tell me if this is normal



    On the otheside we 'll buy a drum cartridge A1 tomorrow morning and replace it as now it's 6 p.m in Mauritius the Indian Ocean as the Xerox shop is now closed.



    Do you think after changing the Drum Cartridge A1 the machine will work again? thank you to reply

Hi,when messages like "Communication problem encounter",is usually caused by The cartridge.When replaced it will work properly.

I would contact the people over at GM Supplies. They only deal with Toners, Inks, Drums, Printers and Copiers -

If this does not work. Unplug the machine from the wall while still on
do not power down first. treat it like the power just went off in your building. While the machine is still off not plugged to the wall. Press the power button several times. This will erase any saved info on memory.
Plug machine back on an try again. If it does it again you will need to replace your hard drive and that will take a service call.

The screen states "close cover E" It is closed but the screen keeps saying " close cover E" ?


The Exit 2 interlock switch is either broken or off it's base or defective. If you open up the top door on left side of print, there is a push button switch that mounts on the back side. If you're standing on the left side of printer it's located on the top left. Make sure it's mounted properly and try to push the button with your finger and see if error goes away, if not replace switch, part number 110E11580.

I did contact the Xerox support center and they did suggest the following fix:
reboot the printre --> pres the following buttons --> powersave + red stop button + nr 6.
This should empty the print memory.
Dont forget to remove all the printer jobs on the client computers.

Xerox workcentre pro 40-communication problem encountered


Some connection is lose. One of the connectors to the main board may be loose. The communication it is taling about is the machine devices are not talking to the main board.
If you just purchased it you can call Xerox and they will send someone free of charge to fix it.
The number is 1-800-821-2797.
Does there happen to be a code coming up with the message? like an 03-888 ot 05-222?

Workstation pro c2128 - communication problem encountered. reset system by turning off, then using the white power switch. this did work?


Hello ! This problem often occurs after a physical power off for a certain period of time. If you haven't done so, reboot the system by powering Off then On, using the white power switch. If not resolved, unfortunately the only solution is for Xerox to service it with a specially set up notebook, which contains a "Tanker" service menu. Parts may be needed as well. Hope this helps.

Fault Code 15-362 - CAUTION: The Fuser Roll remains in a cammed-up position if power to the copier is interrupted while the copier is in use. The Fuser Roll will not be released from its position until the power is restored, the Power Switch is in the On position, and the Start button is pressed again. If the Fuser Roll remains in the cammed-up position for a prolonged period of time, copy quality defects will occur. To prevent damage to the Fuser Roll, switch the Power On as soon as possible after the power is restored, and make a copy of a document. If the machine is a DC 12LP send a print job from a workstation to prevent damage to the Fuser Roll.
