The DC harness on this model is a known fault. Toshiba UK will repair this power harness free of charge even if the unit is out of it's warranty period. I see yours is the US unit but I would imagine it is a free service over there too. Contact Toshiba customer support, explain the DC harness is loose inside your system and ask if it is a free repair due to being a known fault on that range of laptops. Hope this helps,

The pin that u put the charger in has went back in the laptop. how to open it to get to it to fix it.

The power socket on a laptop is usually soldered directly to the mainboard. Sometimes the socket is on a seperate smaller daughterboard or on a cable that connects to the mainboard, but usually this is not the case. Opening the laptop to perform this repair can be very trick and time consuming. I would certainly not recommend an amateur attempting this repair as usually the entire board needs to be removed, the socket de-soldered and a new socket soldered in place. Not for the faint hearted! If you wish to provide laptop model details I may be able to provide the screw locations etc and disassembly guide.

My Y530 wont come on.....I checked the power supply and power is coming to the battery via the ac plug but when I hit the power button the screen stays dark. How do I fix this?

Hi. Are the light indicators on the computer turns on when you press the power button. If none, then this could be a case socket issue. Case socket where you insert the power adapter to your computer is somewhat loosed. Socket has no physicla contact to the motherboard that is why computer is not getting the power. You may call Lenovo Tech support if you want this issue repaired. Phone number is 1-877-453-6686 then press option #3

Toshiba L300 Case Repair !

Basically the input power socket need to be replaced. To get at this power socket will require the laptop to be completely dismantled to remove the motherboard to gain access to this power socket. If you find this too dificult to DIY then I suggest you get a quote from a computer repairer before you get this job done.

Toshiba satellite a215 loses connection with power cord

The fault could be the adapter plug (a broken wire at the plug) that connects into the laptop or a faulty power socket on the laptop. In most cases it is the power socket on the laptop, it could be just a dry solder joint in the circuit board where the power socket is soldered on the motherboard or the power socket is faulty and therefore needs to be replaced.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard.
This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

My whirlpool washing machine wont turn on. I checked the fuse and the socket which are working perfectly well. It doessnt seem like there is any power in the machine.

Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

The dc power plug is broken

Yes.
Is the connector on the power adapter that plugs into the laptop?
If so, this is an easy repair, purchase a new connector from electronics parts shop, cut off the old connector and solder the new one on the end of the cable. MAKE SURE YOU SOLDER THE CONNECTIONS TO GIVE THE CORRECT POLARITY ON THE CONNECTOR, OR YOU WILL DAMAGE THE LAPTOP.

If the power socket on the laptop is faulty, this repair is more difficult. The socket may only need resoldering on the motherboard or in the worst case a new socket replacement. Either way the laptop need to be dismantled to get at the power socket.

If you don't feel you can handle this, get it done by a computer repair shop or a techo friend.

HP 2610 won't turn on. Power cord problem?

If there is no power at all test a different power cord. If there is a power adapter in the middle you can test DC voltage on power adapter.

Sometimes the power socket on the printer is bad, in that case you need repair service.

Test also the printer on a different socket.

How to open the case of a compaq 1685

Sorry, I don't think you can replaced the socket by your self, it not just because you even don't know to open it, it also need soldering skills and find correct socket can be fit in the case( must same one used for your motherboard.)
Must take whole motherboard out of the case if you want to replaced the power socket. That's not DIY, that's my job.
