The top section, fridge, is freezing up, we only had it 3 days

Read somewhere that refrigerators are not supposed to be transported on their sides - that they are supposed to be moved in an upright position and that if you have transported it like that you are supposed to let it stand upright for about 8 hours before using it.

If the fridge was transported standing up, it is safe to use right away. If it was transported on its side, I would wait 24 hours.

I have a stainless steel Amana model ABC2037DES that was given to me. It has been plugged in for 24 hours and it is not freezing anything or making ice. The refridgerator is not cold enough either. ...

if the compressor is working it could be a thermostat problem
I think that if you check for a reset button at the back to get the compressor running , that will fix the problem

New fridge coming today...

Good day,
If it's being delivered by an appliance company, they know that the machine has to be transported upright. So no. You should be able to plug it in as soon as it's set up.
IF the machine is transported on it's side, then yes, a minimum of 24 hours is necessary to get the oil back into the compressor.

Model N325T. No cold air in fridge or freezer.

Hi,
Hopefully you read my tip frist and transported it the right way, but since your having trouble probably not.... If you laid it down on its side you have oil in the system where it cannot get out and is plugging the pipes so the compressor cannot run...
Try to let it off ofr about 12 hours before trying to plug it in again...then if it runs... only let it run a few minutes and then unplug it for an hour or two...do this a couple of times and then it will be okay..

HI There,

If it was transported to to your house not in an upright position, then you may need to unplug it and wait for 8 hours to have the fluids settle before starting it again. If that is not the issue, ensure that there is ample space at the back of the unit, between the wall and the fridge to help circulate the air. Inspect the coil found at the back of the freezer for ice build up or dirt. If there is let it melt and have the unit cleaned out first before restarting.
