sounds like you have a usb cable for charging only. You need a "2 way " usb cable, the kind used to transfer music and pictures to and from phone to computer. These one way cables are usually used in mobile chargering,as you don`t need to transfer things, just charge.Or you got wrong cable for your phone.
Please, try using another charger with the phone.
If the problem continues, get a screw driver, unscrew the phone and bring the charging port out. The charging port is at the tail end of the phone.
Clean the surface of the panel where the charging port contact the panel with a spirit and allow it to dry for 30 minute. Couple back the phone and i am sure the charging phone will work fine.
Find someone else with a glyde and ask them if you can trade them batteries for a day to see if it's a bad battery. ( you can usually buy a battery for $5 on ebay, or up to $20 in your carrier cell phone store)
If the problem follows your old battery, toss it and buy another battery.
And if neither swapping out the charger and the battert solve your problem then its the phone itself. I have called in to our cell companies before and let them know we have a phone that will not hold a charge no matter what battery or charger I use... and they usually replace free it under warranty as long as the phone is less than 12 months old, and the white squares in the battery compartment are still white. (Pink Red means oops! water got in there) and then you’re only getting them to cover replacement if you have cell phone insurance
This is not a fix per se, but if you feel it gets you a rock solid answer go ahead and rate it otherwise, please don't bother to rate this. I'm just giving your some guideance.
You phone in question needs replacement as there is a clear malfunction. You can call your provider or go to the phone store. You shouldn't have any problem having it replaced. They may even offer to upgrade you to a Razor or some such higher end model if its better than yours.
Hi how old is the charger often the wires inside the charge fray and short either try somebody elses charger or try you charger on someone elses phone if the charger is working ok then it could either be that the battery needs replacing or that the board is warped on the phone first of all i would try someone elses charger this way you kno the charger is working or not let me know how you get on ok
have you tried your dads battery in your phone it sounds like the battery is dead if your charger works on your dads phone then you know it not the charger the chances are it is the battery it would only be the phone if it has been dropped or got wet if this hasnt happened then the problem is the battery if your dads battery is the same then try charging his batt through your phone that way you would know if it was phone or battery.
If you take the phone into any phone shop they will test the phone and battery for free for you they can try the battery and also try a new battery in your phone and they will tell you if it is phone or battery but from my experiance it is going to be the battery let me know how you get on ok
