I had the same issue a couple of months ago, when i called Saniflo, i found out that the problem was because the pump was not vented properly. I had the small hole open and this was causing the odor. Also, they told me that these units need to have air going in both directions, not a one-way vent. After fixing this, my pump works great and i have no other issues.

PS: It is not a good idea to pour down bleach in the system, this is what they told me as well.

If its the top level of the drainage it minght be a venting problem. if it is u must install a 1 way air velve on the outside of the house were the pans bend comes out. Get a 90 bend with vent on hole at top and the vent, thast ask 4 it at plumbing shop. if the line is vented all the smells wil go into minisepal line and not out ur toilet. but i would call the plumber back who installed it if its not vented and this prob ocerd to fix it ,let me know if its the top line and if u want therder instructions or Q.

Plz vote for my solution

The breather hole (1/2" hole on top of the lid) must be kept plugged or capped off. If left open, odor will escape through there. Also, do not drain bleach or chlorine into the pump, it has rubber material inside and will shorten out the life expectancy of this components.

Handyman will you explain exactly where this breather hole is? Ours is vented to the ouside per our code, the top of the access3 has no other holes, or possibility of a hole.

My condinsate pan on my sub sero 642 was overflowing after I returned from 3 weeks away The machine is holding temp , the hot side cois are warm I can't figure out why the water collected in

because the refrigerator wasn't opened for those three weeks, the machine did not have to work as hard to maintain temperature, causing shorter cooling cycles, a good thing; but this also means the compressor isn't getting as warm as it normally does either which means less evaporation from the condensate pan. The defrost timer keeps doing its job melting off accumulated ice; but it is time regulated, not usage regulated. Best idea would be to raise the temp setting a couple clicks when you are going to be away for awhile.

My Westinghouse fridge freezer, model WSE6100SF, was affected by a power cut lasting 3 days. It now smells, but not inside. Is there a drip tray under the fridge that collects the water?

yes there is but most are not removeable.... remove the cover in the rear of the fridge, the pan is located around the fan motor that's underneath the fridge... I would try pinesol, bleach or odoban to kill the smell..... good luck

Brand new fridge. I have a bad smell like urine comming out from the bottom front. is this a leak.. fridge is staying cold. this smell started a week ago. Fridge is 2 months old

smell is urea,it is a gas produced when plastics get hot,it will go away in time, but also check the drain for a blockage (syringe with clorine bleach)and if fitted, wipe out the condensate pan with clorine
last make sure the door seals fit all round as iif not flush any condensate will drip out from the front bottom.

My clothes stink so bad from my front end LG washer! My co-worker on my first week of work started buying bath and body sprays and body wash leaving it on my desk. I'm so pissed off because my washer was...

My LG stunk too. I did the tub washing with 1 cup bleach and wiping the rim, leaving everything open, nothing worked. I added 2 cups of a 6% bleach and used the tub cleaning cycle, rinsed with an empty hot water cycle then added bleach-able clothes to the 2nd hot water rinse (the third cycle/step). It gets a very strong bleach smell so don't take a whiff if you open the door in the first 2 cycles! After I did the strong bleach cycle, I am able to treat with just the 1 cup bleach about every 3 or 4 weeks and I make sure to wash with a hot water wash every week and a half at the least. This seems to keep my clothes smelling fresh like they should. Before I bought the LG, I read where people turned up the amount of water the washer takes in but I can't find the link that said how to do that. I think it was 1/4 turn on a screw on the top of the machine (when you take the cover off) but I can't guarantee how to do that.

My older KA Ref Model KTRP20K & M is giving off a strong odor similar to iodine. Very strong in AM but can still smell it in PM. I've checked for spoilage and nothing there. Any thoughts? Is it time...

since it is working ok . i am wondering if you dont have mold growing in the drip pan ... condensation from inside the refrigerator goes down a small tube in the back bottom of the frig ... that tube goes to a pan under the refrigerator and normally the water just evaporates .. if there is a lot of condensate from the frig then the pan may stay wet long enough for mold to get established ... a large amount of condensate from the frig usually indicates a leaky seal around the door .. or a door that doesnt close completely .. you might want to clean everything under the frig including any fans, coils and that pan (unplug first) ... now this all assumes that the smell is coming from the outside not inside the refrigerator .. if the smell is inside then you may have to defrost and clean the evaporator (the coils inside the freezer (somtimes also in the refrigerator) ... there are some kinds of mold that actually grow in that cold environment .. some hot soapy water with a little bleach usually does the job .. or if you have one, a steam cleaner, those do great .. it allows you to get down in the little places and clean everything ... make sure the frig is at room temp first so plastic doesnt crack ..
the refrigerant r22 or r134a have very little smell so even if you had a leak it wouldnt smell strong .. a few refrigerators use ammonia and that would have a distinctive smell easily recognized if there was a leak .

GE side by side refrigerator smells on the outside!

Mix 1/3 cup of bleach and 2/3 cup of water , and pour down drain tube (rear bottom in freezer section . Too much bleach and the smell of bleach would be circulated by the fan to the room , so be sure to add water .

Odor

First, clean or replace the filter. Next, mix a very weak solution (40:1 ratio) of bleach and water to fill the unit. the bleach will kill any bacteria that could be causing the odor, but NOT harm anyone, The filter will take care of any hard water issues. Just don't make the mistake of thinking "If a weak solution is good, a strong one is better". NOT TRUE. Stay with the 40:1 mix unless you like breathing bleach. (Yuk) Note: It may take a couple of days for the odor to go away.
