Water continual running piease help

The Water Inlet Valve on your washing machine is used to fill the tub with cold, warm or hot water for the wash and rinse cycles. The valve is operated by electric solenoids that are controlled by the timer or electronic control board and the water level control/water level selector switch or pressure switch. If your washer continues to fill during a cycle, the water inlet valve could be at fault. To verify that the valve is at fault, unplug the washer when the symptom occurs. If the washer continues to fill, then the water inlet valve is defective. If the washer stops filling, then the problem is related to the electrical circuit that controls the valve. The water level switch is a pressure activated switch that is used to determine the correct water level in the tub. This part is normally located behind the control panel and will have a hose or air dome tube that connects it to the tub. On washers that use an electronic control, this switch may be located at the sump area below the tub. As the water fills in the tub it will compress the air in the tube and push against a diaphragm inside the switch. The switch will control the water inlet valve and turn the valve off at the correct water level. If the tube has a leak or is plugged, not enough pressure may be created to activate the switch and the washer may overfill. If the switch is defective it may also cause the machine to overfill.
To determine if the switch is bad, you should first eliminate the air dome hose as a problem. Look for signs of cracks or worn areas on the hose. Remove the hose and submerge in water. Seal one end and blow air into the other end and look for bubbles. Check for an obstruction in the hose as well. If the air dome hose appears to be ok, then the water level pressure switch may be defective. Inspect the switch for signs of a mechanical defect or debris plugging the hole in the inlet nipple. To test the switch contacts for continuity with a multi-meter, you will need to apply the proper amount of air pressure to the air dome tube and then look for the switch to go open circuit at that level. The easiest way to do this is to start the washer and allow it to fill to the normal level and then remove the power cord. Locate the pressure switch and remove the wires from the correct terminals and then perform the continuity test. There should be infinite resistance or an "open circuit" when the water level is correct. If not, then the switch is defectiv

I have a lime.stoppage in the washing.machine or hose, where do I start? It is not.the.wall faucet. I tested it.

check/ replace the inlet solenoid valve unit in the machine
if it is faulty or not getting power then the water will not flow into the machine.
simple test is to change the hot water hose to the cold water tap and use hot water setting with the cold water tap on
if the water flows then it is the cold water solenoid

Error code nf

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

The Error code "nf" is No Fill. Turn off the water at the wall connection and remove your fill hoses at the washer. Inside the inlet to the water valve there are inlet screens. Use a thin knife blade or a scribe on the outside of the screens and remove them. Wash them under slowly running water while rubbing them with your fingers to clean them off. After cleaning reinstall the screens and connect your hoses to the washer.
Next remove the hoses at the wall faucett / hose bibb and check for inlet screens in the hoses. If there are inlet screens in the hoses at the wall connection remove them and clean them. Otherwise reconnect the hoses.. turn on the water... check for leaks and test your machine for proper filling. If it still does not fill or you get the nf code again you most likely have a bad inlet water valve. Either the diaphragm is stuck or... one of the water valve solenoids have failed. The solenoids and water valve assemblies are NOT repairable. IF they fail the only remedy is replacement. Solenoids will read resistance with a meter. The resistance should be the same for both soloenoids. If either one of them reads open the water valve must be replaced.

If the steps above do resolve your problem, respond here and I will help you at that time.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

We have a Zanussi Washing machine ZWF 14581W. The problem is we have no water entering the machine. I have removed and cleaned the water inlet hose which is not blocked. I have also emptied the emergency...

My guess is that the water inlet valve solenoid is not operating. DISCONNECT FROM POWER. Take top off, The assembly connected to the inlet hose is the inlet valve solenoid. Do you know how to use a test meter? If so remove the wires from the solenoid connect meter to the wires on appropriate range and check for mains on the wires as you start a washing program the machine. THIS IS DANGEROUS SO IF YOU AREN'T OK ASK SOMEONE COMPETENT. You must ensure that the connections to the meter cant touch anything at all when you switch on !!!!!. SO HANDS OFF If mains is getting to the wires at the fill stage the valve is broken. Replace it, it is obviously held by screws. As an alternative you could use a mains tester screwdriver and see if it lights up when touching one of the terminals as fill is selected. If the fill valve is getting power and not operating it's the valve. If not the problem lies elsewhere but you don't mention any error codes so I assume the door switch is OK. If it thinks the door is not shut it won't fill. Hope that helps.

Cold water fill is very slow. nearly dripping.

First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoids on the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put in a fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Error LE

The "IE" code indicates a water inlet problem. If the correct water level is not reached in eight minutes, this code is generated. Check the water inlet valve. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the water supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. Check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter.Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will have to be replaced. I'll attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Washer just hums when time for the water

Check the water water supply at the water inlet valve. Remove the supply hoses and check that the small screens in the inlet valve are not clogged with rust or debris. The water inlet valve solenoids can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve will need to be replaced. I am attaching a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Error code f h

The FH code in the owners manual talks of a water supply. The F/H code means the unit isn't detecting water fill at the flowmeter. The flow-meter sits just in front of inlet valve and is attached via a hose, and off to the left of the CCU. If your washer is filling ok, check the wiring from the flow meter to the control board; I've seen this harness jiggle loose and cause problems. check figure for flow-meter location. c3a1d6e.jpg
No water detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected.

If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.

Or

If the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • If there is no water in the unit:
1.Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
2.Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
    3.Verify inlet valve operation
  • If there is water in the unit:
    1.Verify Drain pump operation
2.Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch
  • Verify there is not a siphon problem
  • Verify wire harness connections to:Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump, Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check all hoses for possible leaks
  • Verify pressure switch operation
  • Verify flow meter operation
  • Verify CCU operation.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

The HF error code is a hot fill valve control issue. Here are some tips:

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • If there is no water in the unit:
    1. Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
    2. Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves
    3. Verify inlet valve operation
  • If there is water in the unit:
    1. Verify Drain pump operation
    2. Pressure Switch Hose is in good condition and properly connected to Tub and Pressure switch
  • Verify there is not a siphon problem
  • Verify wire harness connections to:Inlet Valves, Pressure Switch, Drain Pump, Flow Meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check all hoses for possible leaks
  • Verify pressure switch operation
  • Verify flow meter operation
  • Verify CCU operation.

This is directly from the Whirlpool tech sheets we use to verify these problems. Make sure you have the hot water on fully and the hoses and strainers inside (at the fill valve and hose connection) are clean and debris free. let me know if this helps you out any.
