Diode D26 in De9116 charger

Thanks for the diagram but the detail is so small i can't pick up the component numbers or values. If you could give me a bigger copy or the actual value of D 26 it would be much appreaciated. Thanks Ian ian.mcgee@bigpond.com.au

I need the schematic so that I can adapt this charger to other nicad batteries. Who can provide a shematic of the dw9116 charger. I am a registered PE, with masters degrees in theoretical mechanics and materials science. A schematic is all I need. Thanks.

I believe the circuit configuration is 'ADP-53RP' if that is any help.

I would like to see the schematic so that I can decide if and how this charger can be used on other nicad batteries.

Diode D26 in De9116 charger - 01878966-6ef6-4767-9068-ef226cfdce75.jpg
This schematic should be close enough to troubleshoot most of these. Mine had rapidly flashing light indicating bad pack. I know the pack is good as it works on 3 other chargers. Mine ended up being R11. It is a surface mounted resistor on the bottom. Should have been 511 ohms , but was reading .480 megohm. Replaced it and works great.

I took a DW9116 apart today and the electrical components look like just generic electrical parts. You should be able to find them at your nearest electrical supply house, Radio Shack, etc.
But yes, DeWalt of course wants you to buy a new one...why wouldn't they?

I looked everywhere for D26. Maybe you mean R26? That value is...

Brown
Red
Blue
Black

Silver

From left to right, R26 at top.

At least someone is getting some help. Sure wish I could find a schematic for a DW9116.

D23 on the board is blown up.I do not know what to order at the store.on the schematic I found it shows D23 with an E51A below it.Help. thanks

The prefix D would usually suggest a diode of some sort but I have no idea what E would denote.

The circuit diagram provides insufficient information and so either the component(s) must be ordered from the manufacturer as spare parts, the exact type and value of them must be discovered from a manufacturer's service sheet or component list or an experienced electronics engineer must be consulted to calculate the values from the circuit or even to make an educated guess.

My DE9116 battery charger keeps flashing very fast and not charging, any suggestons? I have changed the fuse!

IF is doing that without battery on it maybe charger is bad but if flashing that way when you put the battery could be the battery hope this helps!

I have 110 volt durapro 18volt dc battery charger, component R14 has burnt out beyond recognition and I was hoping someone could tell me exactly what it is so I can replace it. Thanks

Hello,
The component is a resistor. The problem is going to be determining the resistors value since it was burnt and you can not see the color code. You might try contacting the manufacturer and asking them the value of that specific resistor by including the number like you did in your post R14. If you can find a wiring diagram for the product, it should tell you the value of the resistor also.

I hope this helps you getting started in solving the issue.

If you would not mind, please rate my help. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

I have a dewalt de9116 charger and when a battery is put in it flashes constantly even a new battery. Is the charger defunct?

I would say tee charger is no good. The only internal component is a circuit board so it is not worth trying to repair it/get spares as it will cost the same as replacing the charger.
