As it is when your oven runs normally it usually does an on and off type of running in which the ignitor lights the flame from the gas which stays on until the oven tempreture sensor tells the control board that the oven is hot enough at which time it shuts off the gas until the oven starts to go maybe 10-15 degrees below the tempreture at which time it would let the gas go through the line again and turn on the ignitor try checking your ignitor usually if you stick an amp meter on them should be drawing 3.3 amps plz remember to shut off the gas from the gas shut of valve in the rear of the machine before measureing for the amps hope this helps

Temperature when using frigidare oven, keeps getting hotter and does not cool down

Good Afternoon Andrea,

I see that you're having issues with your Frigidaire oven, and the heating element being red hot the entire time you were cooking no matter how much you turned the temperature down.

I suggest giving your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by either unplugging it or cutting the power off at the circuit breaker for at least 2-3 minutes. When power is restored to your oven, you will need to set the clock by entering in the time and pressing start. Preheat the oven, to whatever desired temperature, and if it is still running hotter than it should be, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My electric amana oven turns off after it has preheated and is baking for a little while. the display goes off and will not turn on until the oven has cooled. is the control board bad?

Ovens have a thermal overload beneath the outer skin which prevents the oven from overheating. If the temperature in the cavity gets too hot the overload will operate and cut all power. When the oven cools down sufficiently the power is then restored. My guess is that this is what is occurring. If the electronic timer is faulty is doesn't normally turn off and on, it just won't work. It sounds as if the thermal overload needs replacing.

Fan oven heats up then whole oven turns off, including timer.

It sounds like the thermal overload switch which is located in the oven cavity is operating and cutting the power. Does the power come back on once the oven has cooled down or is the power off indefinitely. Some thermal overloads are automatic reset and some are manual.

The oven is not getting to temperature

Check the breakers/fuses that supply the power to the oven. It sounds like it is not getting enough power.
Good luck!

Oven gets too hot AEG B3101-4

Hi I am Vortash This sound like the thermostat cut out switch and if it is glowing hot then you have a serious DANGEROUS fault
it means that it is not disconnecting as it should and has shorted ot .. please get it changed immdeatly as it may short to the oven body causing it to become live .. now that should mean that the house fuse should blow .. but on the slight chance it don't you would be electrocuted if you touched the oven please call a domestic service engineer now Regards Vortash

I have a Competence B1180, it cuts out after irregular periods of time, although sometimes it may even complete a cooking cycle, if turned off for 10-15min it will re-start, but invariably cuts out again...

Could be caused by either of following;

1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan).
3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).

Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat.
To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components.
When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present.
If mains current exist but fan is not turnig then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.

OVEN CUTS OUT

Could be a sticking thermostat, or a safety stat operating, this cuts off the supply to the oven if it gets too hot for any reason, then when it cools down a bit the oven comes back on,
If it is built in, make sure it has plenty of ventilation, and check the vents to see if clear..
The safety stat is usually located at the top of the oven under the top cover.
Hope this helps.
Plz rate this solution.
Thanks.

Electrolux Oven EOB6630, similar to above

Hi, I've had a similar problem with my electrolux EOB4633. I've replaced the "thermal cut out unit" and it's working now. Basically this unit switches on the outer casing fan ( on top in my oven ) to keep the casing from overheating. When the thermal cut out doesn't work it fails to switch on the fan and the casing overheats, the oven then cuts out completely until it has cooled down and the cycle starts again.

The bit to be replaced ( part no 8996619267611 ) is located on top of the oven, under the outer cover, just behind the timer & selector switch. It's a small ( 1inch long ) silicon sleeve with 4 wires coming out of it, just unplug the wires and replace it with the new one ( unplug/disconnect the power to the oven, or switch of the power at the mains switch first ), then remove the oven outer top cover ( all you need is a screwdriver ). You'll see the offending unit, probably tie wrapped to one of the wire bundles, quite easily - mine was blackened and charred.

Good luck!

AEGB1180-4 overheating/cutting out

It is not the control unit. Remove oven from housing, switch power off and remove either the top panel or the back of the oven You will see two wires going to a thermal overload cut out, looks likse a round thermostat. Join the 2 wires togther bypassing the toc, it will now work okay
