In most cases the reason for this is a small in board short that drains the batteries. the fault is not worth having fixed as the short could be any were. the only thing you can really do is remove the batteries when then camera is not being used

hope this has helped

I have had the same issue 3 times now. If you call Casio they will replace the battery twice. The third time they will have you send the camera in to check for manufacturing issues. They claim they have fixed the problem, but everytime I get a new battery it happens again. The best solution is to return the camera (if you can) and buy a different brand or throw it away.

Everytime i attempt to turn the camera on, the screen flashes and nothing happens. I have tried replacing the batteries

Here are the steps:

1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.

2. Clean the battery contacts.

a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera

3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.

If issue persists, call 1.800.235.6325 for repair.

Thanks.

Battery compatibility error, even tho it came with camera!

Try clean contacts of camera for battery and contacts of the battery also, specially the middle one - it is for communication between camera and circuit inside the battery. If the problem persists, try use another battery in your camera, or your battery in other compatible product - you determine this way if the problem is inside the battery (I hope, it is cheaper) or inside the camera.

The date and time start up appears everytime i turn on.

Set the date and time at least once... if it still keeps coming up when you change the batteries the back up battery/capacitor has failed... my old kodak does that so i know the frustration but it's still a good camera

Date and time

When you open the battery compartment, there is a small round battery(under the cr1220) slot, lift up this slot and take the battery out and replace it, this is the battery for that function of the camera.

Clock always reset to default upon power up

Either the replacement battery was dead or the camera needs to be serviced. If the date/time needs to be reset every time the camera powers up, the camera is not receiving the power it needs from the date battery.

Everytime I try to take a picture my cam turns off

That happens to me once in a while...Just when I feel like throwing in the towel, it starts working again! But I am actually having a problem right now: Even with fully charged batteries, the camera goes into "low battery" mode when I turn it on, and right now I can't download some really important pics...ARGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!
