I have an N70 which I use occasionally when I'm travelling, to host a SIM for whichever place I'm at. I've just tried to switch it on for the first time in 3 months, and nothing happened. I put it on the charger, thinking it was just a flat battery, but it showed no sign of charging up, and after several hours, I tried switching on again - still nothing.
I've tried taking the battery, SIM and MMS cards out and switching on while plugged into the charger, in every possible combination - no luck!
Is there any kind of fix for this or should I just accept that I've had good life out of it and get a new handset?!
My dad had the same battery in his phone, which I stuck in mine, and it does seem to work. The question now is, can I save myself the money and time of buying a new battery? How do I make a hard flash to the old battery?
Thanks

if you have any ac/dc adoptor which produce more than 4.5 and less than 6.00 DC volts.
Then put the +ve node to the +ve node of tha battery and -ve to the negative (extreem left and xetreem right).
Put this connection only for 10-15 seconds. Beaware if you will leave for more than 20 seconds, your battery may expolite.
Then you can try, if no success then do the above process again.
But I will recommend you to take your battery a tech person and tell him about your battery.
if you are satisfied with my solution please rate my solution as fixya.

N70 is still a good phone, not very different from newer N90.If you leave the battery to drain up completely, and then do not recharge the battery for a long time, the battery will not hold any charge anymore. If you buy a new battery it should work again. I suggest going to a shop which sells Nokia and buying a new battery. Before buying the battery ask the retailer to test a full charged battery, they always have a spare battery for testing. In rare cases, when is not the battery, it may be oxyide on battery socket inside the phone. Most likely solution is changing battery.
Still can fix it not by you,, in the service center they're going to put cable in your fone, and check your phone if there's no hardware to repair. and if it's all ok and did boot.. the're just going to reflash your fone ... with firmware.. and everything will back to normal... did your power switch bounce? if not that will the problem and they can fix that and less charge...

A Nokia N70 can be unlocked safer and easier using unlock code. An unlock code for a Nokia N70 can be acquired from http://www.unlocking4u.com/nokia-n70/rs6wp9/ at affordable cost. Here are the steps for unlocking a Nokia N70, 1 - Switch on your Nokia N70 without any sim card. 2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia N70. 3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#. 4 - The Nokia N70 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!
Note :For Nokia N70 mobile phones locked to the network Fido or Rogers in Canada follow these instructions : 1 - Switch on your Nokia N70 without any sim card. 2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia N70. 3 - Compose #pw+CODE+7#. 4 - The Nokia N70 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!
You can use only a single network operator at a time which is the one active with your SIM card. You can try and search for other networks available at a place but you cannot switch the operator unless you current network supports Network switching. For details regarding Mobile Number Portability you have to contact your customer care and ask them to switch your phone to your desired network without changing the phone number.Hope you are satisfied with my solution.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for choosing Fixya.
remove the sim, battery, and memory card then clean your sim with eraser then try it on. if problem continues try a new sim and if not work again no other solution but to consult a technician.
Kindly open your mobile carefully,
then open the network plate area, it will be placed just above to your camera. Now clean it with the help of a toothbrush & some petrol. Now pack your mobile. switch on it. Your mobile will work. Thank You.
You might have filled up the memory to the brim and the phone doesn't have enough to switch on. Try reformat to original settings. anything you stored on the phone will be lost.
How to reformat your phone, first turn it OFF. Press* 3 sendat the same time and keep them pressed while you turn the phone on.
Give it time to work.
Remember, do not let go the 3 keys until you see the formatting screen. After a few minutes when the process is over, your Nokia N70 will be back to the original delivered system.
check your settings, try to OFF th Fixed Dialling. Go to the SETTINGS then SECURITY to PHONE and SIM then FIXED DIALLING. If it does'nt work try reformat your fon but the worst thing your file saved on your fon memory will be deleted.
