It won't reset no matter how many times I push the button. The light flashes, stays lit and as soon as it starts to filter the light goes out and it sllllowwwly filters the water.

Check or replace the water filter going to the unit. if ok the controls may be frozen , switch off and defrost this will often cute the fault.

Wash cycle stops and light on the extra dirty symbol lights up

This is might be the drain filter. When the drain filter is clogged, the machine won't empty itself of water.

Candy has a troubleshooting webpage that lists many possible problems/solutions:

http://service.candy-domestic.co.uk/fault-finder/FaultFinder.aspx?Section=11

If you do try to check the filter, keep in mind that opening the drain filter will yield gallons of water on your floor, especially if your machine does not have the drain hose next to the filter opening. You'll need to have some way of transferring the water ready before opening the filter.

Good luck from Detroit, MI.

I have a candy go c58f and it is stopping after approx 10 secs of starting it's cycle and all the lights are flashing - I have checked the filters and emptied the water

This is a problem of the dryer being too cold. What you need to do is turn it off when all the lights flash (using the dial) then turn it back on again and start the cycle again. Repeat until it keeps going.

This is a real PITA. I spoke to their customer services about it and told me what to do. It seems the sensors in it are not happy in cold weather!

Mine takes 6 to 10 go's in very cold weather. I find it's best to get it warmed up when empty as the hot air gets to the sensors more quickly.

Timer not advancing

Jallen, your troubleshooting skills are right on. The timer itself is the problem... specifically, the motor that drives the timer cams. Unfortunately you have to replace the whole timer, not just the motor.

You asked about a fuse that might supply power to it. No. The timer gets its power from a redundant switch assy at the door lock. If even one of these switches fails, no power at all will be sent to the timer... therefore, you'd get no power to any other component. Since all other functions of the DW are working OK, you can safely diagnose it with having a failed timer.

Good job!
