SOURCE: can't clean coils under fridge

Carefully. It can be done.

Get an old kitchen towel and a yard stick. Pull the towel over the end of the yardstick, and carefully slide the end of the towel between the coils, using the yardstick. Carefully sweep side to side, while at the same time, having the vacuum cleaner nozzle in the vicinity to capture loose fugitive dust. Carefully pull the towel out, and vacuum the dust off the rag.

Do this from front and back, being careful to not damage the tubing. The little wires are OK to bend some, just don't put to much force on the refrigerant tubing. Take your time, and you'll get the coil clean.

How do I clean the coils on my Maytag freezer-on-bottom fridge? (Model #i is MF D 2560HEW)

HI,

Pick up a coil brush from you home improvement center near you and remove the grill in the front under the freezer door. With the brush, brush the coils under the unit to clean them. Have a vacuum handy, you will need it for dust and hair if you have pets in the home. Good Luck

Tip

Maintaining your refridgerator for longer life

You should clean the back of the refridgerator and vacum it at least one a year, pull it out and clean under it and vacum the back of it, then pull off the cover on the front bottom of the fridge if the coil are underneath, purchase an appliance brush for refridgerators at any hardware store, there not expensive and clean the coils under the fridge, clean in between the black coils and pull out the dust and dirt, then vacum once you get out what you can with the brush, this needs to be done at least once a year for the best perfomance for your fridge and longer life of it......unplug the fridge before you start, the cleaner the coils the cooler the fridge will be and also will use less energy to run......when its dirty it has to work very hard to cool........make sure you unplug the fridge before you start.......hope this helps......

Haier Model HNSB02, Serial # 1005006483--Not keeping within 36-46 degree temp inside. Adjusted dial on rear of model-is higher number colder temp?

Hi,
I'm Leo
Yes higher numbers are colder
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

Haier frig., model HNSE05, continues to cool till all contents are frozen. Can not reduce temperature to aceptable levels.

Hi,there

Most times this is a bad cold control, but there are other things to check for. Make sure the condenser fan is working and the coils are not covered with dust. A separated heat exchanger ( small capillary tubing soldered to the large suction line ) can separate from one another and make the fridge run too long. - tape tubing back together. A poor working evaporator fan motor could also make the fridge run too long and freeze - replace the fan motor. An inefficient compressor or refrigeration system could make the fridge run too long and freeze - have a service tech check this out. A misaligned control settings, make sure the air damper and cold control have not been bumped and are out of normal settings. Stuck open air diffusers or air dampers are becoming more and more common for allowing too much air to be blown into the fresh food section and freezing things. On all frost free fridge's the freezer temp air is blown into the fresh food section, if you have "easy" to freeze items ( eggs, veggies in water, etc ) in front of or under where the freezer temp air comes out, they could freeze - store them in a different spot. Doors not closing properly making the fridge run too long is something else to check for.

Hope this help out....

Artica Profile side by side freezer will not cool below 2 degrees

Remove the rear panel at the bottom of refrig which covers the compressor and coils . The coils should be cleaned about every 4-6 months . Place a length of 2x4 laid flat behind the fridge , to push the fridge against , as this also gives enough room for air circulation .
