SOURCE: How do I get the starter motor off my Yamaha XT 125

Hi,

There are two bolts going through the starter motor and clutch cover into the crankcase. Undo these two bolts. The only other fixing is the O ring at the front of the motor. You may need to use some penetrating oil here and give the motor a tap with a rubber mallet as water at the front tends to stick these here. The motor should then pull out.

Change oil and, filters regularly; lube the throttle cables and, all moving parts drain the fuel tank and, replace the fuel filter every year, or; when needed. never leave fuel in the bike when you store it without using "stabil" only check your ignition with a timing light get a maintenance schedule from the bike's manufacturer and, follow it.
