Try brushing off the contact where the face plate goes on, may have something stopping it from working right

Stereo shut down

Did you check fuse block in the car as well as the stereo fuses?

When the face plate is down does that model have any indicator lights in the rest of the deck to see if it is getting power? My old ken wood used to have a red light that blinked behind the faceplate.

My new dual XDMA450 stereo wont turn on. when i take off the face plate the red sensor light is flashing. this only happens when my head lights are on. what problem am i having with my stereo and why

Check your wiring connections. A similar thing started happening to me out of the blue. The unit would work fine for a period of time, and then just shut off for no reason, and I couldn't get it to come back on. The next day, it would come on again when I started the car and stay on for a while, only to shut down again. The red light behind the face plate continually flashed, regardless of whether the receiver was working. In my case, there was something off in my red wire connection. The unit would turn on / shut off when I moving the wires on either side of the connection. I redid the connection, secured it with electrical tape, and the problem has not reoccurred. If the red wire is not the problem in your case, try the black and yellow connections. These appear to be the wires that could cause this to happen. I can't explain why the power kept repeating the power on / off cycle, unless the wires were in just the right position to be moved / jostled slightly while driving. Hope this helps.

When i plug in my radio it wont come on and when i pull the face plate off the little red light flashes and when i hit the reset button it still flashes

Double check both power (red for constant, yellow for switched) and your ground. Also, if it's switched, you need to have the key in the on position. check to see if this helps.

On my stereo the light lights up in the back and turn on when the car is on but when I put the face plate on the face plate doesn't work.

sounds like a bad connection on the faceplate however most stereo decks have two power sources one controls the main power and the second is a remote power source used for saving information while the car is off ex. Time and radio presets

hope this helps

The deck opens buts doesnt play music and the screen doesnt show.

I have the same deck and a very similar problem. Mine was stuck in the out position and would beep and move a little but there was no lights or music. I called Alpine and they told me that sometimes the inner sleeve around the deck will pinch the unit a little. I took my unit out of the dash and sure enough the plastic face plate came loose and moved about 1/32 of an inch when I slide it back in place and turned the power back on it worked perfectly. Hope this helps.

What is the Meaning of this ?

I dunno what the actual msg means so this solution might be of no use. Anyway, remove the face plate completely. Then on the actual deck, you should see a pin hole, labelled "reset". Needless to say that is the reset button. Press down on it once, don't have to hold it. You should see a red light flash once. After doing this put your deck back in and hopefully it works, again this all depends on the reason of the error msg. My msg was "3000D A3" and this solution was indeed a winner.

Dual MXD55 W/6/5 SP CD Problems

make sure the speaker grounds are connected to the speaker ground wires on the deck and not the "chassis" ground. also make sure both power wires are hooked up to a power source. the thinner power wire is supposed to be a switched source (like the ignition key or an accessory switch) that turns the unit on and the thicker one is a constant source which actually powers the deck once the switched source is turned on.

Newly Installed Car CD Player won't power up

When you see this problem, it usually means you have power on your deck's constant power wire (usually yellow) but no power on the accessory power wire (usually red). The accessory power wire is the one that sends voltage to the deck when the key is turned on. Usually this means that the red wire is either connected to the wrong vehicle wire, or that the vehicle's radio fuse is blown. As a last resort, you can disconnect the red wire from whatever it's connected to, and re-attach it to the same connection as your yellow wire. This should allow the radio to power up, but it won't turn on and off with the key-switch; you'd have to remember to turn it off or remove the face when you leave the vehicle, or you may drain the battery. Alternately, you can extend the red wire to a different source of key-switched voltage. Depending on the vehicle, you may be able to find this behind the cigarette lighter, at the key switch itself, or at the fuse box.
