Open up your favorite browser, navigate to the Yahoo sign in page. On the address bar to the left is an icon at the beginning of the website address. Just left click that icon and hold it down while you drag it to your desktop and let it go. It should create a shortcut on your desktop to that page.

Hope that helps, by the way that procedure is good for any page you would want to shortcut to your desktop.

I want my yahoo mail on my desk top how can i do it

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but any of these ways will put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop.

To put a Yahoo! Mail shortcut icon on your desktop, go to Yahoo! Mail page http://www.mail.yahoo.com/ , at the top of your screen click File, a menu drops down, put your mouse cursor on Send, a menu pops up, click Shortcut to Desktop.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail page, right click on a blank space, a menu pops up, click Create Shortcut, a pop up asks "Do you want to put a shortcut to this website on your desktop", click Yes.

Another way: If it is listed in All Programs: Click Start > All Programs > right click on Yahoo! Mail > point to Send To and on the menu that pops up click Desktop ( create shortcut ).

Another way: Right click on desktop > point to New and on the menu that pops up click Shortcut > in the box that opens type www.mail.yahoo.com > click Next and in the next box that opens type Yahoo! Mail and click Finish.

Another way: Go to Yahoo! Mail Page > left click and hold on the blue bar at the top of your broeser window and pull down far enough to expose the desktop, or drag one side in or the bottom up (if it won't move, click the box beside the X at the top right corner of the screen to Restore Down) > left click and hold on the icon on the left of the address on the address bar and drag it to the desktop and release it, then you can minimize the window and left click on the icon and hold and drag it to where you want it on your desktop.

How do i put a yahoo mail icon on my desktop please

First go to yahoo.com and click on the mail link so you get to the log in screen. Then look in the address bar and highlight the entire address and then right click on it and select copy on the menu.

Second minimize the internet browser and right click in an empty area of your desktop screen and place your mouse pointer on NEW and select Shortcut on the pop up menu. It will ask you for the location of the program.

Third: right click in the empty field and click Paste. It will fill in the path with the web address you copied in the First step. Click on Next and fill in the name of the new shortcut such as Yahoo Mail or such.

Click Finish and you will see a new web shortcut appear on your desktop. Double click on it and it will take you to the yahoo log in screen.

Got a new computer and cannot get yahoo mail shortcut set up

If I have understood the question correctly, it should be quite easy.

Obviously you need to have set up an account before a shortcut can be created, assuming you have done this for your parents already, please follow the directions below.

Firstly, Visit the Yahoo home page. Click the link that says "Mail."

When the next page opens it will either be the login page, or if you have logged in before and saved your password, you'll go right to your webmail.

When the login page opens, simply right click your mouse and select "Create Shortcut."

Your computer will tell you 'a shortcut will be created on your desktop' click ok.

You should now have a suitable desktop shortcut direct to the Yahoo login screen.

You can then rename the shortcut whatever you want by right clicking the mouse again, on the shortcut, and selecting rename. You could type, Freds Email or something. Hope this helps.
