Question about Toshiba Satellite Pro A30 Notebook
Since you don't list your operating system, its hard to take you through all the arcane steps that don't always solve this problem that has caused many people alot of grief. So, here's something you can try if your laptop is no longer under warranty. These were badly made modems that get loose in their plugin spot on the motherboard. You can remove the cover on the bottom of the laptop where the modem is located and fold a small peice of paper ubntil it's the right thickness so that when you set it on top of the modem and screw the cover back down, the cover pushes down on the paper and thus the moden causing a tight plug in fit.
If you don't understand what I'm asking you to do, don't try it yourself but find a friend who's familiar with opening up laptops to do it with you.
It may sound nuts but it works a fair bit of the time. If it doesn't work, you'll either have to do some fairly advanced software adjustments or buy a new modem. This error code number you're getting often means the modem is bad.
