Unfortunately you will have get the focus ring replaced before you will be to make use of it if your model doesn't have automatic zoom and focus in the user menu.
Sorry , but there simply is no other way.

Have you tried resetting the lamp timer ?
If you have and it didn't solve the problem , take out the lamp and check for any discolouration or markings on the lamp.
If you do find anything out of order then the lamp would need replacement.

I have the same problem. The lamp cover has a tab that sticks up about 1/2 inch. When you close the lamp cover the tab presses on a wire that allows power to the lamp. You can hear a 'click' as you close the cover slowly. My tab kept bending over preventing it from depressing the wire. I've straightened it several times to where now it broke off to where it wouldn't work at all.
I fixed the problem by clipping off the tab, inserting it in the bulb case to press the wire and taped the tab in place.

it can be also due to faulty ballast or the colour wheel due to which the horizontal bar is showing up.also if the buklb is giving less light /glow that means its weak should be the cause of this problem.as the voltage of the bulb should be checked

if the fans come on but no lights, listen for a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear it, the colorwheel needs to be replaced. if you do hear it, replace the ballast. if no fans, replace the power supply.
