HI, You will need to check the oven sensor probe wires that link the actual sensor to the main control board. Make sure that the contacts are connected properly, and not loose, or corroded. If all the wiring checks out, test the sensor for the correct resistance readings.(you will need a multimeter for this test)

The most common oven sensor should be approximately, 1100 ohms when at room temperature(If it is less than 500 ohms when tested, replace the sensor probe). The others may be close to as follows:

100°F - 1143 ohms
200°F - 1350 ohms
300°F - 1553 ohms
350°F - 1654 ohms
400°F - 1753 ohms
500°F - 1949 ohms

If the sensor test is adequate, and the wiring is Ok at the control, this will lead to a failed control board. replace the control in this case.

Sensor location

The sensor is, generally, located inside the oven, mounted on the back wall, on the top right, or left corner. There will be two screws holding the housing on the back of the oven wall. Once the screws are removed, the sensor will need to be extracted from the back side of the unit or possibly pulled form the inside.

F31 - Shorted Probe connection(temp probe).

/lfgf3014lbcwhat does f31 mean

Hello Jim, thanks for your post!

From my understanding your Frigidaire range, LFGF3014LBC, is displaying an error code of "F31". The "F31" error code stands for a shorted probe connection which could be an issue with your EOC (Electronic Oven Control), wiring harness, or RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector). I would suggest performing a reset on your range to help clear out any false error codes. You can reset your range by flipping off the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt

What does f31 error mean on fregidare gas range

Good Morning friend, thank you for your inquiry!

From what you have described your Frigidaire range is displaying an "F31" error code. An "F31" stands for a shorted probe connection. This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector), EOC (Electronic Oven Control), or wiring harness. I would recommend performing a reset on your range to help clear out any false error codes. In order to reset your range you need to disconnect power from it for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help resolve your issue and you continue to receive the error code you may need to have a professional out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

F31 on my Frigidaire oven how do I fix it?

Good Afternoon friend, thanks for your post!

Based off the information you have been able to provide an "F31" error code stands for a shorted probe connection. Typically this means you could have issue with the RTD (resistance temperature detector) sensor probe or the wiring harness between your control panel and probe connector. Since it could be any one of these under lying issues I would recommend a professional come out and properly repair your appliance. Hope this helps. -Matt

My oven displays error f31. It beeps and when I press clear the beeping stops. But if I try and set the temp it reverts back to f31

The F31 fault code indicates a problem with the oven temperature sensor probe. The temperature probe is secured in the top of the inside back wall of the oven. Unplug the range to disconnect electrical power. Open the oven door and remove the racks. Remove the screws that secure the oven temperature sensor probe in the back wall of the oven. Carefully pull the sensor into the oven until you get to the wire harness disconnect plug. Unplug the sensor probe. Do not let the wire harness **** back through the opening in the back of the oven. Check the resistance of the probe with a volt/ohm meter. At room temperature, you should measure about 1100 ohms of resistance. Since you are getting the F31 fault code, you will not likely measure this resistance. If the resistance is bad, replacing the oven temperature sensor probe .This should fix your problem. You can order this part from the If the resistance of the temperature probe is normal (1100 ohms), then I recommend that you access the electronic oven control board in the console (with the range still unplugged ). Remove the upper back panel. Pull the P5 connector on the control board and measure the resistance through the purple wires (pins 12 and 13 as shown below) to check the resistance of the temperature probe through the circuit that connects to the board. If the resistance is drastically different than the 1100 ohms measured at the probe, then the wire harness is bad and will need to be replaced. If you measure the proper resistance through this wiring harness at the control board and the connections are good, then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.

My Frigidare stove Model FGFL67DBD will not light the oven. A display of "F31" comes up. What's the deal. My name is Brenda.

F3 is the oven temperature sensor, F31 may be a similar code. If you are comfortable with your own repairs, you can remove the panel covering the controls and check the connection to the oven temperature sensor. Remove power to the over before removing any panel. Once the panel is off, make sure all connectors are firmly seated, connect and disconnect the plugs ensure a good connection. If this does not resolve the issue, try Appliance Parts Pros to order a replacement sensor. The wiring diagram that shows what color wires are the temperature sensor is usually secured to the back of the range, inside the storage drawer, or inside one of the service panels.

Otherwise, you will need to call a tech to repair the problem.

F31 error code after self-cleaning cycle

Possibly the temperature probe, check the connection and the wiring to it. These ovens have very badly stamped metal inside that will cut through wiring very easily. Temp probe may be bad as well.
