    Already know it is a defect.
    Looking for more diagnostic help.
    I may just bypass the electronics on the small motor and let it run at constant speed. Seems the regulator or its settings are faulty. Seems to have been not working properly from new as it never altered its speed, was constant, and now is playing up. Will check warranty before doing anything serious.

Twin-motor 3-way beating action

Maybe the speed setting is too low for the mixing that you are doing.

    The stalling problem and variability occur UNLOADED.

    The speed does not increase and decrease with the main motor speed it behaves the same no matter what the main drive speed is.

    OK, it sounds to me like it could be a manufacturing defect or it got damaged somehow

    internally.

Sadly FIXYA has no control or ability to FIX the problem you have with the mixing bowls you ordered that are not the correct configuration for your mixer. suggest you contact the manufacturer again

After putting flower into mixing bowl large quanity of flower is ejected when mixer is turnon at low speed. Once it starts to mix then it's ok.


Firstly, I think you mean "flour".
Put in your ingredients. Cover the mixer, head and bowl, with a dishtowel. Turn on mixer to "stir" (or lowest speed). But! Mix only for 1 or 2 seconds. Repeat this, with bowl covered, until flour is mixed in enough not to fly out.

Don't know a solution, because I am having the same damn problem.
I am very discouraged with this product.
It is a piece of ****.
I am thinking about taking it out back and shooting it with my 270 I bought.
That is the only solution I know.

There should be a small lever on the base in front of and below the bowl. It will move to 2 positions. It sounds like you have it set for the small bowl but are using the large bowl. Press down on the lever and move it to the other side. If I'm right, that should correct the problem.

The mixer rpm is too fast


No change available. The motor speed if fixed and the 3 speed transmission has fixed gear ratio's. Look at the new HL300 model. It has a stirr speed which is slower than first speed.
Does your mixer havea safety cage? If not, you will need to install one before too long , or the machine will not comply with current safety standards. Put the cost of the safety kit towards the HL300.

I have to physically hold my Artisan mixer in place or it will go off the counter, even at low speeds. Seems to rotate fine as long as the head isn't down with an attachment on and in the bowl.


I think from your description that the the head connecting to the base shaft needs tightening. Put the mixer on it's side. Look up inside the base and you'll see a small set screw.
With a flat blade screw driver tighten that screw and it should stop moving. If it doesn't you probably need another shaft because it's worn.

Beater mechanizim runs very slow and will not change speed


It sounds like you sheared a key in the transmission.Does any gears work?were you using 1st gear for dough?
