Question about Dymo LabelWriter 330 Thermal Printer

My compter was in the shop. He wiped everything out then redone. Now my Dymo LabelWriter 330 will not work. The green light is on and all is plugged in correctly. PLease help.

See if it still happens using a fresh label roll. From the Dymo 450 User Guide the common causes of poor print quality issues.

Poor print quality is most frequently caused by one of the following:
• An old roll of labels
• Labels made by a manufacturer other than DYMO
• Labels where the thermal coating has been compromised
• A dirty print head
First, make sure you are using DYMO-branded labels. Do not use third-party labels because the thermal coating on other labels has a different sensitivity than DYMO-branded labels. Also, the perforated holes between the labels made by other manufacturers are frequently not detectable by LabelWriter printers.
If the print quality becomes faint, small dots of white appear scattered through the printed characters, or light and dark patches of printing appear, you are probably using a faulty roll of labels. Try using a different roll from a fresh box. If the second roll prints correctly, the problem is with the first roll of labels.
Another possibility is that the LabelWriter print head needs cleaning. Every LabelWriter printer comes with a cleaning card. See "Caring for Your Printer" on page 17 for information about the
LabelWriter cleaning card.

Our old computer crashed and when I installed Dymo on our new computer, the label size we always used isn't installed. I need label size 30336. Can you help?


I just looked through all the preconfigured labels on my Dymo 330 and did not see a 30336 label. Is it possible you configured this manually or had it inserted from some other program you loaded? It's easy enough to configure a label manually. You might also call Dymo tech support.

What is the life expectency for these? Mine doesn't come on even with the AC plugged in


We've had our Dymo 330 Turbo for years and still use it daily to print all our address labels - never had a problem with it. They come with a 3 year warranty, so I guess Dymo thinks they're going to last at least that long.

If the power supply has had it you can get a replacement power adapter but if the machine has had it then time to get a new one I think.

The 300 series was discontinued years ago, and even the 400 series has now been discontinued and replaced by the Labelwriter 450 series.

Won't turn on


The 330 series don't have an on button (they are on all the time, unless you unplug them), so presumably you are saying it is plugged in but the light is not on, the button on the front doesn't respond, and it doesn't print.

I'll assume that you have checked that the power supply is plugged in to a known working power socket and the socket is switched on if applicable (depends on country), and that you have checked the power cable is firmly plugged into the labelwriter.

Check to see if the power supply has an LED on it. If it has but it is NOT lit, and is definately plugged in then it is probably a dead power supply (or possibly a blown fuse).

In this case you can try a replacement power supply: Dymo LabelWriters (2nd item from bottom)

If the LED is lit then it would suggest that the labelwriter is broken.

New labelwriter 400 turbo will not print under windows 2000


I had the same problem and accidently discover it was something very simple...at least in my case. I noticed the power cord connection was very good.. I notice the light on the transformer (cord) was sometimes green then it would go out. When I unplugged and then put some force into reconnecting the printer worked. Hope that helps.

Hi, i am on vista at the moment but it will not reconize the usb port for the dymo labelwriter


THe printer is not compatible with the current drivers on the disc, there for you will have to go to www.dymo.com for current drivers, but unistall the printer from you decktop,pc before installing.

Dymo LabelWriter 330 print problem


Try first unplugging PC power cable for 5 mins. Unplug Dymo usb. Plug everything back and restart.
If it does not work, then do the following.
Uninstall the printer completely, also remove all Dymo printer software. Then restart the pc and re install all sofware and drivers. Start installation with Dymo disconnected.
