There are a couple of reasons this might happen. First make sure it closes by hand all the way, if not there is something wrong with the door that will need attention first. If it does close then hook the opener back up. On the opener rail at the end by your header there is a little magnetic relay that is wired to the motor head. This can be moved farther up or down the rail. This sensor tells the opener when to stop in the downward direction. Loosen the set screw and move it toward the header 1/2 inch or so and try to lower the door. Do not move it too much at one time and if you do the door will hit the ground and come back up. Thanks BB

If the small light in your wall control is blinking it is in the lock mode. Press and hold for 3 seconds the button with the icon of a lock. This will toggle the lock function off.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Lynx 455

Check the sensors in the doorway. Sounds like they may be misaligned. They need to be pointing at one another to work properly.

It is not closing completely because either something is in the way of the door closing properly or the mechanism controlling the safety feature is malfunctioning.

Most garage door operators (openers) have infrared safety "beams". The door won't close, even with a wired push button, if something is in the way.

There probably is a dent along the shaft either in the remaining region or the already occupied region. You should open it completely and verify that the shaft is uniform. There could also be a deformed roll in the part of the door that enters the vertical part of the shaft around the time the door stops closing.

It sounds like the sun may be shining on and causing problems with the door sensors. Try using the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet tissue on the receiving sensor.

Open and closing problems w/ garage door

First adjust the down limit setting. There is two white screws on the side of the opener. The one that says down needs to be turned to the less side. One full revolution of screw adjusts approx. two inches. Turn it down until the door does not close all of the way and the slightly turn it up until the door closes all of the way with stight pressure on the door. Next there are two blue screws on the back of the opener. they should be on the five setting on both the up and down screws.
