Question about Bosch MUZ4MM3 Food Processor

1 Answer

Our new food processor doesn't fit our old Bosch

We were told it would fit on the mixer stand of the old style machine (which has just been phased out) when we bought it. After receiving it in the mail we realized that there is a plastic piece pushed up right next to where the processor would attach to the machine. Are we supposed to remove it? Were we told wrong?

I know this is an old post, but my wife and I were having the same problem on a NEW Bosch with a NEW food processor. The solution is actually involved with the food processor itself and has nothing to do with your existing machine. Once the lid for the processor is attached, it moves that little plastic piece back--in fact you can see where the lid with hit the handle, there's a little actuator/lever that moves the piece below. I figured I'd post this because my wife and I shared the same frustration and it was Mats Naslund's answer that led us to the solution.

we had the same problem but after reading post from jim we read the manual again and there in small italics,( nevertheless under a warning title) its says assemble total processor before attaching to mixer.

following above.... insert your blade before putting on lid. then u wont have to remove the lid again after unattaching processor.

There is a separate discussion on this on fixya. The plastic piece should automatically "retract" back into the handle when you attach the processor. Some have removed teh plastic piece and reports it works then, but you should not need to do that.

Not too many people offer to pay for advice, but that's no problem. This is a vollenteer site.

The issue with your food processor is because the cutting chamber and lid need to be correctly assembled so that the tabs on the pot and lid line up andslip into a slot in the handle. This will move the plastic peice out of the way.
A safety device to prevent putting fingers into the pot while in operation..

I have a very old cuisinart food processor. It stopped after I tried to make a dough in the mixer

If it is old enough you may have burnt up the motor. I don't know that the older FP's are designed for mixing dough.

Assembly directions for food processor

I had same problem and found answer on another website:
Front on machine is the one with the label on it.
One thing: the instructions aren't particularly clear on assembly. The bowl handle should be *toward* you when you lock it on the base, pointing toward you when you stand facing the label side with motor to right and bowl to your left. Then the lid just slides right on and when you turn counterclockwise a quarter of a turn it locks into place with no effort as the key slides into the slot and locks. I had this idea the handle should be on the backside of the machine, and it will fit on that way, but then you can't get the lid to fit securely.
