    My email address is
    I don't know what
could be the problem.....sometimes folks think the line is a dash, but
the line after pete is underscore symbol. And dallas is spelled like
    the city.

I did receive the FIXYA email notifying me that you updated my question.

Hopefully you can assist with my issue.

  • Pete May 01, 2008

I got the response from FIXYA so I dont know why my yahoo acct doesnt work.

Oh. maybe its file size. How big are the files you are sending?

  • Pete May 01, 2008

I chked my box and found the email with 2 files. Thx. Was that all?

I'll let you know how the situation goes once I get the unit off my wall and opened up. Thx again.

I finally got to the TV. I had to get a buddy help to get it off the wall.

It had 4 ceramic fuses. 1 was not showing connectivity with ohm meter. Nothing smelled fried or burned.

Know where I can get a replacement fuse? Its T4AH250V P. So I'm guessing 4amp/250volt.

Looking online I found a posting for another TV issue and they also posted the fuse information. So, no luck finding the exact fuse online.

I'll try Radio shack tomorrow, but doubt they'll have it.

Will it be only the fuse? I guess I'm just anxious to know if its the fuse.....we'll see.

    Thx for the help.

I got the fuses today and replaced the one that was blown. After putting it all back together and plugging into power, the LED light stays blue. It usually stays blue when on. After a third reconnect it blinked to red(signifies off) it went back to blue.

And now I'm not getting no sound. Any ideas? Could it be the board that the fuse was on?

  • Pete May 28, 2008

After removing new fuse and retrying, the sound is back on and it turns off and on. I am able to get audio/video to a remote monitor.

So, something else must be fried or not working. I couldnt find any caps. burned so maybe one of the circuit boards.

  • Pete May 28, 2008

I meant to say after replacing the new fuse with the old blown fuse.

After searching on LG website it says that their products manufactured from 2004-2006 are 2 yr warranty. I wonder if they'll fix it even though they wholesaled to Haier.

I'll call Haier to find out what the warranty is....the manual doesnt show anything about length of warranty.

  • Pete May 28, 2008

I just saw Haier manual shows 1 yr warranty. Strangely enough LG shows 2 yr on all plasmas they manufactured from 2004-2006. I guess I'll call them first.

I thought LG was a decent company to buy products if they don't honor what the would seem they aren't.

    We'll see.

I ended up getting the TV back and ordered the YSUS board. I got a new board from for about 160. with shipping.

I just installed the board and can see video now.

I have a new problem now. I see 4-6 horizontal lines. Anyone know what may be causing this new problem?

I tried tuning with 3 of the 4 tunable coils on the VSUS board, but that didn't help.

Latest upodate:

I was going to buy the parts (all were 200+ each) but figured it was best to take it in for servicing. That way I know for sure what going on with it and don't waste 200+ on each part guessing which it could be.

The service company that I took it took was the one Haier referred me to. They told me it'd be 500 to fix it and no warranty(100 labor and the rest in taxes and the Y SUS board part). The Y SUS board part is about 380 online. That seems to be the main board and most expensive one.

I still have it at the service company and need to pick it up at a cost of 75 for diagnostic fee(they hooked up a computer and it diagnosis all parts on tv).

I figure if I can get another 42" during the thanksgiving day sales in a few weeks, I may just get a new one with warranty. Paying 500 and not having a warranty makes no sense. I'm thinking 42inch plasmas will be 500-600. I'm hoping Walmart has one....they seem to have the best 3 yr warranty price (online chk) so I can get a new one for 600-700 with 4 yrs of warranty.

My other option is to pay 75 to get it back and 380 to get part and install myself....saving about 50......with no warranty.

I'm also considering a projector instead....we'll see.

Oh yeah....the service company works for several vendors in Dallas and home warranty companies. They said Haier and Visio are problematic units and everyone should buy warranties for those or any other off brand. They said Visio parts are really pricy since Walmart owns the rights(monopoly) in the US to sell the parts. They recommended the old school name brands like Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba for flat tvs...since they get fewer calls on those brands. They also said some Samsungs are good.

For anyone looking for parts....I have all available(parting out my TV) other than the defective Y SUS board mine.

Harish.......If you've lost both audio and video you'll probably need the upgrade kit. If it were just video you could get by for sometime with replacing the slow blow fuse on the s-zus board. Check your eprom chip on the digiatal board to see if it appears burnt. If so it may have fried. If you'd like the service manual I'll need your email address

Vizio GV42LHDTV - No video inputs

my 42 also went black, and the "vizio" logo in front indicates as if it is turned on, it clicks on and off, but just has no output on the screen, meaning not a black screen, just a dead, no image, even when the system has clicked on

I tried turning off, on, unplugging, letting it sit (kind of like a reboot wishful thinking), removed all connections in back, (nothing still, not even the blue screen) just nothing.

What a shame, I had the unit less than 6 months, and now this? I have work to do, and I can't get it done.

Blank screen 42HP25BAT

There is a easy fix - Most of you purchased your television at Sears or BrandsSmart Stores - No picture but you can hear sound - the part you need is the upgrade kit - part: TV-3940-01 - the part is not always available.
