Hi, Make sure you have power to the water solenoid valve. You should hear it click/energize when you turn the dial or push the fill button to start the fill cycle. Check this. If there is power, and it does energize, kill power, shut the water off, and take the water line loose and off at the solenoid. There is a screen there to catch water sediment, check to see if it is plugged or clean. Get back to me after you have done these things and let me know where you stand. If I solved your problem, please be kind when rating me as being helpful as I know you will. Keep me posted if you need more help. If you hear no click when you touch it to feel if it is energized and you feel nothing, you need to check across the 2 terminals with the wires on, and pulled back for 120 volts. If you have power, you will need to replace the solenoid valve. You will need to get one at a appliance parts house.

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra wash III will no longer stay

if your adapter that hooks up to the faucet has 4 little white plastic jaws inside it then it can be rebuilt. there is a kit that replaces those 4 jaws, the spring, the attaching clip and the internal seal.. usually runs around 10 buks or so. if i was at the store i could tell you the part number without needing your model number, but any good appliance parts store should be able to locate them for you..
hope this helps,
best of luck,

Hot Water Will Not FIll

Hello James, I am happy to assist you. Here are few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you get to the root cause:

  • Water supply is not adequate in area. Check water pressure at another faucet in the house. Wait until water supply and pressure increase.

  • The water supply faucets must be completely open.

  • Water is being used elsewhere in the house. Avoid running water elsewhere while washer is filling.

· If your water flow is abnormal, double-check water faucets to ensure they are in the "on" position. If on, your incoming water pressure may be above 30 PSI and could need adjusting. Check for any kinked or blocked water hoses or clogged water screens. If you've cleared the water screen and/or unblocked any kinked water hoses, and the problem still persists, it could possibly be a water inlet valve assembly.

· If the above items did not assist you in resolving the issue, it could be a number of other underlying causes - primarily water pressure valve, pressure switch or the unit's main control board. These parts are commonly replaced by experienced service technicians.

Washer will not fill- no water in, only a slight buzzing sound when the control knob is pulled out. It does spin on the spin cycle. Water lines are clear (note- water does NOT flow into the water line...

With the hose disconnected from the washer and faucet open no water comes out then it is for sure the washer will not fill, Run a garden hose from any working faucet and attempt to run washer>

Do not forget and leave the faucet to the washer open if and when the blockage clears.

The faucet that controls the hose connection may have failed and the internal rubber washer is blocking the flow.

Hope this helps?

Error code #E70

Error code E70 means Cold water hose is connected to wrong faucet or Cold water faucet is not turned on. If this is not the case then check the cold water hose, whether it is kinked or plugged. If the hose is fine then the fill valve assembly has turned bad and you would need to replace the valve. Connect hose to cold water faucet and cold water inlet on washer. Be sure cold water faucet is fully opened.Hope this helps... Please post back for more information.

Hot water fills very slow(30 MIN OR MORE TO FILL) good water flow from spicket to washer, screens are clear. sewems to be something with the washer its self

Might be a bad inlet valve. To confirm, swap the hot and cold hoses to your washer so that the cold water feeds the hot water connection and the hot water feeds the cold water connection. Turn off both hot and cold water faucets. Set the washer for a warm water wash. Turn on the cold water faucet, and check the flow. Then turn off the cold water faucet, and turn on the hot water faucet and check the flow. If the cold water flow fill slowly, then the problem is with the inlet valve.

It an easy part to obtain from an appliance supply house. To install disconnect the hoses to the back of the machine, and remove the back panel to get access to the valve. Should only take a couple of minutes to remove and install. Hope this helps you.

My washer is not filling up with water fast enough and I'm getting an error. I want to remove and clean the filter where the inlet hose screws into, how do I do this?

You may or may not have screens in the end of your hoses. The screens should be at the end where they connect to the faucets. Turn off your water supply and remove the hose(s) both from the machine and the faucets. Check the ends of the hoses for the rubber washers with screens. You can remove them (if they are present) with a small flat-head screwdriver. After removing them you can wash them out in the sink to remove any debris. Also take a look inside the valve at the back of the machine where the hoses connect to see if there is any debris there as well.
BEFORE you hook everything back up to the machine run the water from each faucet into a bucket at full speed to clear any sediment that may be laying in the pipes.
Re-connect your washer and give it a shot!
Good luck!

Water fills at a very slow rate.

Hi, check the exterior and interior hoses for kinks and, obstructions. i would also remove the outer inlet water hoses to check the screens at the water valve. if the hoses and, screens are clear of obstructions, this will lead to a fault water valve assembly. replace this damaged water valve asap in this case.

***. check the water pressure just to be safe. if the water faucets are not open fully, this will cause the slow fill as well. if the pressure is optimal, replace the water valve assembly.

Kenmore series 70 top load washer - cold water fill very slowly.

The screens in the line are clogged. There is usually a screen in the washer hose at the point where it is connected to the faucet as well as one by the water inlet valve. NEVER REMOVE THE SCREEN BY THE WATER VALVE. As for the one in the cold water fill hose, that can be cleaned or replaced.

Washer No Water

Close your faucet at the wall, disconnect to check the hose, screens at both sides, clear. Reconnect carefully, check for leaks; turn on faucet full to see if water enters machine when machine is turned on. Otherwise open up top of machine to look for any damage or loose hose (power off the wall first) check to see if connections to water valve are tight & okay.......

Water problems

If the washer doesn't fill properly, or if only one temperature of water fills the tub, something is probably keeping water from entering the machine or it's draining before the tub fills completely. Set the controls to the first wash cycle, and then try each water temperature setting. If both hot and cold water seem to be entering the washer with good pressure, water may be draining out prematurely during the fill cycle, through siphoning action. Be sure the drain hose's connection to the standpipe is at least 34 inches above the floor (otherwise, discuss the problem with a plumber). An air gap between drain hose and stand pipe that prevents backflow is also good to have. If hot works but cold doesn't, or vice versa: 1) Be sure both the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. 2) Be sure the supply hoses are not kinked. 3) Turn off the faucets. Unscrew the hoses from the faucets and drain them into a bucket. Hold the bucket under the faucets and test them to make sure they both work and have plenty of pressure (see HERE for information on replacing faucets). Screw the hoses back onto the faucets. 4) Unscrew the hoses from the inlet valves and clean the filter screens just inside them; these may be clogged. To do this, pry out the screens with a screwdriver (this can be difficult; the screens may be inside the valves), flush them under running water, then put them back into the hose. If the screens look defective, replace them. Then screw the hoses back onto the valves. Be careful not to cross-thread the hose threads when screwing them back onto the valves. 5) Call an appliance repairperson; there may be a defective inlet valve or a problem with the controls.
