Dell inspiron 2020 all in one fan problems

I have found that if the room temperature near the computer is too high creates a problem. If the processor is being used at a high rate that will influence the temp sensors and cause the fan to run at the "speed" you hear. (It is on all the time, just different speeds). Other heat producers may not have clean fans or fins, for example display adaptor or power supply. or but unlikely, the
cpu fan interface is not well seated or no heat transfer grease. You didn't change the processor did you?

Can i upgrade a dell dimension intel core 2 6320 dm061 to an i3 cpu

No, sammyjayp

You are talking two different technologies, here.

Here,..........pull up a chair, and let me explain.............

The Dell Dimension desktop computer's motherboard, has a different type of technology being used; than per se a motherboard which supports an Intel Core i processor.

Whether we are talking Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Core i9.

The Dell's motherboard chipset, is composed of a Northbridge chip; and a Southbridge chip,

[Note* CPU stands for Central Processing Unit.
Another term used is Microprocessor, or simply Processor for short.
Does NOT mean PC. Personal Computer ]

The Northbridge chip handles the Faster capabilities of a computer.
Processor (CPU), Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.

[HIGH-speed graphics being the AGP technology, and the PCI Express technology.
Using a PCI graphics card in a PCI slot, is NOT high-speed graphics.
Using Integrated (OnBoard) Graphics, is NOT high-speed graphics ]

The Southbridge chip handles the Slower capabilities of a computer.
Anything connected to the;

1) PCI bus, and to include Integrated Graphics
2) IDE (PATA) bus
3) SATA bus
4) USB bus
5) Ethernet
6) Audio (Sound)

Motherboard's that support the Intel Core i processor's, do not utilize a Northbridge chip,

The Sandy Bridge micro-architecture was brought out to surpass the Nehalem micro-architecture,

We are headed to the Skymont micro-architecture,

Besides,........the processor socket you have on your motherboard is an LGA 775 processor socket.

The Intel Core i3 processors, use a completely different processor socket.

However, there are problems in architecture looming in the future;
Silicon will not have the capabilities for the newer processors.
(In about 10 years)
Talk is of going to Graphene.

Doesn't matter anyway.
In 10 years computing power will be so cheap, it will be the same as a sheet of wastepaper.

It will be in the wallpaper, your clothes, your toilet, and so on.
Our world will evolve exponentially.
(Unless some freak/s blo-w/s it up)

Computers will be as disposable as a sheet of paper.

Computer processing power follows Moore's Law.
Moore stated that processing power doubles every 18 months.

It is down to EVERY 11 months, NOW.

Seen the birthday cards that sing happy birthday to you?
The chip in the birthday card has more processing power, than all of the allied forces in 1945.

Your cellphone about the same power, or more; than was used in the first spaceflight to the Moon. (1969)

I wouldn't sweat it all that much.
Soon your cell phone will have more power, than that desktop computer you have has right now.

May be in contact lenses,

As for your Dell, once I find out the model number, we can see if it will support a better Intel processor, and more ram memory.

What is deffrence between core i3, and core i5

There's two main differences between them that i can think off the top of my head.
1) The speed at which the processor works (where i5 works faster than i3)2) The number of cores it has.
Cores are like little computers inside the computer itself. The i3 has 2, while the i5 usually has 4. usually the more cores a computer has the better it is at doing background processes.

Can a Intel Core I3 be installed in a Emachines D725

No. Not the one listed above (socket LGA 1156) You need to look for a mobile CPU (possibly mobile 479). They differ physically and architecturally. Even then you need to establish that the CPU is removable and verify BIOS has support for upgraded chip. Talk to your local repair shop for finale decision.

I am using a intel Dh61ww board with intel i3 2100 processor. When i switch on the pc the cpu fan rotates and display. pls help me.

The steps I would take would be : 1 make sure you have a power supply with the proper power connections and at least 500 Watts 2 remove and reset the power connections, try to boot 3 disconnect all hard drives and cd/dvd's, try to boot 4 remove all ram/memory sticks, try to boot and listen for the beep or beeps if it doesn't beep and still shuts off, you have a bad motherboard and/or cpu if it does beep, you need to try different ram

Hi im working here in the middle east i have a defective acer aspire 4741, processor is still ok and other pheriperals i want to use it as a desktop which motherboard brand mini itx, with pga 988 bga...

Hi there,

The Core i3 targeted to laptops can use three different pin-outs, PGA988, BGA1023 or BGA1288. They carry the same main features as socket 1156 models: integrated DDR3 dual-channel memory controller the maximum supported clock rate depends on the CPU, models that support DDR3 memories up to 1066 MHz also support 800 MHz memories ; integrated PCI Express 2.0 controller supporting one x16 lane or one x8 lanes, and DMI bus.

The main difference between laptop and desktop models is the clock rates: in order to save battery life, laptop models have a far lower nominal clock rate.

Referring to pin-outs as stated above the socket you are looking for is specifically designed for laptop, desktop pinouts for first generation icore series are sockets 1156 and 1366. for second generation icores socket 1155. In my opinion you need your laptop motherboard repaired or replaced.

Hopefully this information helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I am planning to buy desktop with i3 processor, I want to know whether intel original motherboard will be best for i3 or Asus or some other brand i can look for.(please suggest). Also which intel's...

You normally cannot swap later model CPU chip to an older motherboard. It is best to purchase a motherboard with a matching CPU and RAM. What you should be looking at is the specification of the motherboard and the built-in devices on the motherboard that suits your computing requirements.
A motherboard for high performance gaming is different for one just for Internet and e-mail requirements. Then select one or more well known motherboard manufacturer and check their various models.
My preferences are Gigabyte, MSI, and Intel.
