Please check to the store where she ordered and get the delivery receipt number because that will be your reference. If they use a courier ask them what courier and when they deliver. After knowing the courier call the courier if they receive such information about the delivery.

Im getting a message on my computer saying that my disk needs to be checked for consistency but i didnt install or update anything or touch it. it just came out of the blue. help?

Go to Start , then Programs, Accessories, System Tools and System Restore. Go to an older restore point maybe from like a week ago , the computer will automatically shut down and restart with an older restore point, let it do its magic, its like going back in time to a good day. It should resolve your problem if not then let me know. Good luck.

When my daughter plays just dance the wii just freezes how can we solve this

Check the disk to make sure there are no scratches in it. If there are bring it to your local game store and have them run it through thier disk restorer. Usually costs about a buck.

I have a compaq home computer. A couple of weeks ago, it quit working. I can't get it to where I can log on or anything. I've been told I need a boot up disc. Where can I get one?

If you cannot find the disks that came with the machine if any, then you will have to call HP/Compaq tech support. I had to do the same thing for an IBM machine today. You will adk for a set of restore or recovery disks. Remember that running restore will format the drive and you will loose data. It will restore the machine to the original condition as it was when new. If you need to get data off and can boot it up with a disk then you can transfer the data off the hard drive before restoring it. Sorry.

Power jack on acer aspire 3050 got very hot. now it doesn't work. Is the laptop fried now?

this model is very cleverly designed. the power connector is actually on a smaller daughter board that is connected to the main board, the problem is most likely the damaged daughter board (sometimes called the power board) so all you need to do is replace this daughter board, you should be able to find good deals on eBay

My daughters facebook was disabled, Why?

She may have inadvertently violated their terms of service. This doesn’t mean that she was inappropriate in a mom’s sense, it could be anything. Using a unauthorized picture, sending too many messages to friends inbox etc. Rest assured Mom, she couldn’t lose her account by simply entering the wrong password too many times. I have entered my password 100 times just because I was stuck on stupid. Also if she used her email address for another Facebook account, it will disable the first and you will not be able to get it back without writing to Facebook. make sure that you get your daughter to write from the email that is associated with her account, otherwise they will not be much help to her. Finally, response time could be as much as a couple of weeks. Be patient.

Need systems restore disk for Gateway

I'm not sure if you hope to rescue your files and documents but a system restore disk won't do this, it will wipe you hard disk and return it to factory default. therefore you could just start again with any copy of windows XP. You'll need driver disks but you can download them from the gateway website. you can get an XP disk cheaply on ebay.

IPod Problems - Connecting to Windows / Songs Cutting Short

Sounds like Vista has some setting causing it to want to check all USB devices. Maybe a virus scan or something?

Yes restoring an ipod resets it back to all factory defaults, which is to sync automatically. So whenever you restore you will need to recheck that box.
