Question about Televison & Video
When you are having a problem like that this is the repair strategy. Check these parts in this order. 1. LCD Control Unit
2. AV/Terminal Unit
3. Main Unit
4. LCD Panel (I really hope it is not the panel)
Check for damaged LVDS cable
Check all INPUTS for video
Check LCD Test Patterns in Service Mode; confirm video is ok on test patterns
Perform the appropriate factory resets

This is a problem with the scan of the screen. It is usually called "mal discharge" or "pixel misfiring". The pixels light up when they shouldn't. The best way to troubleshoot this when it works after warming up for a minute is with freeze spray. You can buy this at a tech supply retailer online like www.jameco.com or similar website. The method is to turn it on with the back off, spray the boards one at a time, and see which one is causing the issue when it gets hot. Typically it would be the logic board in my experience.. if you can check it with a volt meter this can help too.. let me know how you want to proceed.. a repair at a service center would run you about $250-400. Let me know, thanks
