Hi Katie.. If you are using a coaxial cable to connect your TV and VCR, the TV needs to be tuned to channel 3 or 4. If you are using the Yellow, red and white cables, your TV should be on video mode to work.
we cannot get a picture or sound on several channels. Otherwise the TV works fine. Any solutions?
as you get p&s on several channels so your ser is ok the problem
1 loose contact near tuner or it is defective.
2 tuner signal line .
A few questions: Are you using this TV directly on a cable line of do you have a cable box or satellite receiver connected? Do you have sound and no picture on the AV inputs as well, or only on TV channels? Is there anything on the screen or is it completely black? Has the picture collapsed to a single line across the screen? Is there a picture but it's distorted? Does the on-screen menu and channel number display properly?
With a little more information I might be able to help you with this.
Try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics to a certain extent.
