Question about Thumper Mini Pro 2 Massager

There is a long delay before the massager will acturally start to vibrate. Is this something that can be repaired?

The switch contacts are probably dirty. If you pry off the switch (actually it's a cover), you will see the actual switch underneath. There are several sets of contacts that control the speeds. Use a cotton swab wetted with 91% rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts. This made my Thumper work like brand new again. My is an older unit, and has open switch contacts. The newer models may have a different switch. This procedure was recommended to me when I called Thumper about my Mini Pro 2 not working properly. You can reach them at 1-800-848-6737.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures. If you call Thumper support at the above phone number, they will tell you exactly what to do to fix it. Very simple, takes less than 5 minutes to fix.

You NAILED it. I've gone through 2 of these pricey units over the past 5-10 years because I had not found your post until now. Once, Brookstone replaced my unit, per their then-lifetime warranty. But then they said not to come back with this one because the policy was discontinued--at least for these kinds of products. Anyhow, our current one which looked otherwise perfect began slowing down and then coming on line very slowly. My wife had asked for a new one for her birthday (I had given up on Thumper) but I had begun the online research for a new one as the birthday present.

I learned that there have been numerous imitators but none of the hundreds of various reviews I had read pointed me anywhere beyond simply replacing the unit. It was only on more in-depth research toward diagnosing this supposed "design flaw" did I arrive at your post. Cleaning the contacts couldn't have been easier and I can't believe that I couldn't figure that out on my own.

The person who's afraid to pop off the switch cover is not alone. I wouldn't have done it for the same reasons except that I saw it done in a video within Amazon reviews for this product.

Thanks, again. You just saved me $189. If you're ever in the NJ area, I owe you a drink and a burger.

Only four things could cause this. A scanner would point you in the right direction. One is the controller(box?), two is the actuators/motors for the blend doors, three is the wiring, four is the blend door is broken or something is lodged in it to keep it open.

When should I use the kneading setting, and when should I use the vibration setting on my electric massage chair?

Kneading is typically used in Swedish massages or deep tissue massages, and it is used to stimulate nerves, blood vessels, glands and cellular exchanges in the area being kneaded. The kneading setting should mainly be used to increase circulation. Vibration stimulates sensory nerves which increases blood flow and temperature in that area. Vibration is most helpful to just relax, but also to help stimulate an area that is normally not reflexive due to brain injury, fatigue, or paralysis.

Is it dangerous to sit in an electric massage chair while pregnant?

It is a common misconception that massage chairs are not safe during pregnancy. The truth is that the baby is very well protected in the womb, and he probably feels more vibrations just from you walking around all day then he will feel from the chair.

What is the difference between a Swedish massage chair and a Shiatsu massage chair?

A Swedish massage chair incorporates five different stroke patterns (sliding, kneading, tapping, vibration and friction) across muscles groups; while a Shiatsu massage chair combines pressing, swaying, patting and rolling movements while targeting pressure points.

Remington vigoro plus (massager) still vibrates but not only the inside of it makes vibrations and i can hear something rattling inside, how do I fix this?

Poke out the four rubber lugs covering the four screws in the massage head. Remove all 4 screws and remove plastic cover. Replace round spinning weight that will have come off the spindle. Replace cover and screws. Should now work.

Massaging neck rest question

The massaging neck rests usually offers you two relaxation therapies: variable speed vibration massage to customize massage intensity and heat. Some of this devices even have a "comforting sounds" option (which makes relaxing sounds). Besides that most of the massaging neck rests offers the same featurs. They wrap comfortably around your neck and shoulders, supporting your head in a comfortable position (Usually - memory-foam filling and a soft fabric cover). Hand-held control adjusts the vibrations to your specific comfort level, without having to stop the massage. Includes plug-in AC adapter, or you can use four AA batteries

massager have hammer pads that send vibrations deep into your muscles. Make sure the part you are massaging is covered in cloth, then sit the hammer pad(s) on the part that needs massaging and let the vibrations penetrate and to the work.
