the image in the LCD monitor will darken in strong sunlight or bright light. This is normal occurrrence in device CCDs and does not contitute a malfunction. This image will not be recoded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded wihen shooting movies.Read you owner manual and adjust the MENU, according with your o. manual.Otherwise you must go the repair shop God bless you
Hi, It is problem of lcd screen that will be replaced to get correct picture view. Local camera repair shop will replace it or if you have expertise then can replace lcd screen by yourself. Let me know if you need part number of lcd screen for DSC-S930 camera. Thanks.
I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not
see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else

Ok here it is open the camera and re insert the fine lcd ribbon into is holder problem solved. Your camera must have had a sharp knock to dislodge the lcd screen and pulling out the ribbon. Worked for me. Cheers
have you checked the lense assembly. One of the possible cause may be any of the lense element, inside the lense assembly may have dislocated from its fitting. Just swithc on the camera look inside the lense from the front and try to zoom the camera. if you happen to find any obsticle in the movement may be i am right.
