If these are the disks that came with your computer then put in disk 1 and reboot the computer. When the computer starts to boot press the F12 key this should give you a boot menu to boot from your CD. Next you will have to select the boot from CD option. This will load the restore CD. Note you may have to press a key on the keyboard when the prompt comes up. Then follow the instruction. After this you should not have to install the application CD.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions.

Do you have a windows operating system CD? If you don't you can request for one at any Acer support center. Then, once you have it, insert the operating system CD, restart the pc and repeatedly press F12 from your keypad. Then select CD/DVD ROM from the Boot Device menu. then press any key from CD. And then select the prompts like "Custom" "I accept the terms" etc. until your system will automatically reset to factory settings...

Hi,

1) Hold down the power button for 10 (ten) seconds to switch off your machine.

Please note: Holding down the power button on the machine forces it to switch off. Any unsaved data will be lost.

2) Press and hold the 0 (zero) key and at the same time, tap the power button once to switch on your notebook.

3) When the machine Starts beeping; release the 0 key.

4) When prompted by the warning screen; select Yes to continue with the system recovery.

5) Select Recovery of Factory Default Software; click Next.

6) Select Recover to out-of-box state. Click Next again.

7) Click Next to Start recovery.

Restore my packard bell to factorl settings

Hello there,

If you want to recover Windows Vista factory settings, go to "Control Panel", then "Backup and Restore Center." There you can choose to restore your operating system using system restore or to restore your system from a previously saved restore point.

Hope this helps

How can I restore my system settings in my computer

Well there are several ways to approach this, 1st you can use system restore, to take your system back to a date that it worked fine, to do that go to the start pearl in the search bar type in system restore, click the Icon for system restore it will give you a calendar with several restore points that your computer has saved along the way. your system will go back to those exact settings, now if this is a virus issue, that is beyond system restore then a complete factory default is in order. Depending on what type of computer you have some have build in restore partition that are build in your windows OS. if thats the case simply hit F8 during start up and choose repair your computer and them choose restore to factory condition, this will delete any files you have on your computer and restore it to out of the box condition. System restore will not delete your data but, often restore points themselves are corrupted, my recommendation is to back up your files and do a complete factory restore.
Hope this helps please feel free to ask any follow up questions you may have on this thread.
Take care :)

Slow

Try testing the system (if a Dell or HP, there will be diagnostics available in the BIOS or during boot up). If everything passes the diagnostics, then you can either provide more details on when its slow, how its slow, when it started being slow, what may have happened prior to it being slow (dropped, updates, new software, antivirus, etc.), OR back up all your software and files and use the PC Restore to reinstall/restore to factory condition.

I have deleted everything from my hdd. I don't

Hey you will need a recovery software
i.e "Restoration" ver software for recovering

Recover lost data by fixing the HDD to another computer and load the software in the other system not in your HDD and do not re install or install any thing till you restore you important data if you do so it will over write the HDD and you will never get the data back
so IT IS VERY NECESSARY TO FIX THE HDD TO OTHER SYSTEM AND THEN PROCEED

IDOWNLOAD THE RESTORATION SOFTWARE FOR THE URL BELOW
http://download.cnet.com/Restoration/3000-2094_4-10322950.html

AND INSTALL IT ---ITS VERY EASY TO USE SOFTWARE

Restore Hardrive to Factory Settings, Missing Hidden Partition

Yes Claudia you are right. When you wiped the hard drive you deleted the partition that contained the systen restore (factory restore). You will have to purchase a new copy of Vista. It will not contain all of the other programs that came with your computer originally.
Before you installed Windows 7 it clearly states that you have to back up your system before you install it on your hard drive.
Why didn,t you keeep windows 7, if I may ask? If you made a copy of it (which you had to do when you insatlled it) reinstall it and use it. Microsoft will let you purchase it for $50.00, which is a lot less that what it will cost you to purcase Vista Home Premium.
