Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
HP dv5 1225ca
my computer is stuck on mute. the touch bar on the top of the keyboard is stuck on the orange muted speaker icon. I seem to be missing a driver. My husband downloaded a new one (IDT something or other codec?) and it didnt fix it (even after multiple shutdowns and reboots). I read that i should delete the drivers and upon restart it would ask me to install something... it didnt ask so now i have no drivers and am stuck on mute. help!
Go to the HP Support site. Click on "Drivers and Downloads" tab. Enter the p/n (product number) from the white label on the bottom of your laptop in the box where they ask and go. The next page will offer you a chance to choose the Operating System you're using. Enter the correct one and you'll be taken to the Drivers site for your laptop. Look down the list for HP Quickplay and HP Quick Launch Buttons drivers. You must install the QUICKPLAY driver first. Also, look for the Sound category and download and install that driver as well.
That should get you going.
