Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Duo-Therm A/C can not find model number.

I have a Duo-Therm roof-top a/c unit and I can not find the model number. I found the tag on the outside, but it is sun faded and I can not read it. Is there another tag somewhere I can find it. I have the original installation instructions, but it list several models. It looks like a model 579xx.xxx from the pictures, but the rest of the model number is unknown. It could be 57912.005, 57912.006, 57915.005 or 57915.006. I need to replace the capacitors and they said I have to have the model number to cross reference the part numbers. Will the parts interchange? Is there anyone that can help me?

Did you get your answer? I have the EXACT same problem. I isolated my unit to the third one you listed based upon the one numer I could read (LRA 63). Just need a run capacitor and the specs on it.

Have A Duo-Therm air conditioner on top of my motorhome and it stoped cooling, the fan works fine. Is there a fuse in the box under the filter? It says there is on the out side. I am not sure where it...

Can you please reply with model number off bottom of upper (roof) unit. Should be able to see it when filter is removed from ceiling assy. Please include model of thermostat if possible. You say fan works, but when turned to cool, no compressor kicking in? Try shutting unit off, and turn off breaker at panel as well, give it a few minutes and retry and see if anything changes and let me know.

Installing rv roof airconditioner heat strip

I see what you see also in the manual. The difference is the Heat Strip package that part is optional and the 600212-001 with the optional heat strips becomes the new 600315-001 I talked to Dometic Duo-Therm and the models are the same but they both are not heat pumps but the new heat strip package comes on when told to go into heat mode when you change the thermostat to heat. The part you purchased will fit both model numbers you listed for your roof top air conditioner. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Can I put heat strip in my duo therm air condition unit I think it is ducked

Check your control box at ceiling assy., and see if you notice an extra plug in side or end, where the heat strip would connect first. If not, Write the model and serial number off the control box, as well as model number off the bottom of the upper unit (roof) which should be visible when ceiling assy, filter section is removed and call dometic customer service at 1-800-544-4881, and they will advise you as to proper control box required, and if anything else is required as well.

Can you give me model #'s of thermostat & AC unit, as well as upper unit? Number of or at least a description of thermostat, and numbers for ceiling assy should be visible when filter taken off, as well as # for upper unit should be tagged on bottom of unit on roof.

Location of Drain holes on Duo-Therm Model 630035.321

Good place to start is up on the roof. Look way under the unit (hard to see some times) along the bottom, between where the gasket sits on the roof and metal bottom of unit. Should see small round or similar sticking down from unit. There will be a hole in the side of them. Poke around with a wire or something to open them up. If you don't see water/condensation running across your roof from unit when it's operating, (usually in 2 directions, 1 each side of unit) then yup, there plugged.
