IT IS A SHARED MEMORY
You won't like the resolution if you remove the 8mb buffer in bios set-up, trust me.(it will make your display look like 16color windows 3.1 or worse) You could try it and it will get you back that 8 meg the other is shadow ram, don't mess with that either.
Your options in advanced video are 8mb and 1mb. My advice, leave it.

Brookstone Scanner Mouse needs 128 mb video memory; where do I find that on my computer?

It's refering to Video Memory/Ram/Shared Memory, not your 130GB Storage Space. That would depend on the Graphics and Ram you have and how much memory is Shared. Perhaps this will help: http://www.brookstone.com/webassets/pdf/817873p_manual.pdf

Hp a705w upgraded to 2gb ram, 160gb hd (sata) cpu running at 2.93gh,\r\nshould be a beast. runns slow and video streaming has slight freeze. HELP. Welcom291

the specs is already good for browsing and some sort of document editing. however, if you wish to play games or do video editing, i suggest you get a good video card. 1gb video card will be good. Even if you have a good amount of ram but your video processing memory is shared, it will definitely slow your computer.

Its running very slow please help me sir

It's due to your graphic properties You need to upgrade your graphics card. You can install 512MB(512 MB is sufficient) ATI or NVIDIA graphics Or Check whether your graphics supporting software is installed or not You need to install graphics upporting software
Or else(if you your graphics memory shared memory) Check whether shared graphics memory software is installed or not
you need to install shared graphics memory software

Sir how much graphic memory can spport my p5nmx-mx mthr board with 3gb ram inbuilt graghic memory means how much graphic memory it will show when i will use 3 gb memory {available graphic memory}

the max you will see if you are running vista is 1244. shared memory is calculated as followed.
(total memory-512)/2= dedicated shared video memory. (3000mb-512=2488/2=1244mb dedicated shared memory.

What is shared ram

Shared RAM this is a term use to tell the customer that the size of video will defend on the amount of RAM that the computer has, for example almost all laptop now is just using a shared RAM for the video card meaning if you have 1GIG or RAM and the video card can be set to 256MB so the 1GIG ram will be deducted with the 256MB that was allocated to the video RAM......

High end games wont work

The graphics adapter you have installed is a low end adapter and the 128MB is shared so it is very limited in its performance. You need to upgrade the adapter as this is a built in and you cannot add video memory. Hope this helps.

How we can share RAM memory with graphics memory of our PC?

all you have to do is go into the bios, do this by pressing F2 on boot up, when in the bios you need to look for "shared memory" or "graphics memory"
once you have chosen the shared memory you want save settings and exit by pressing F10, the pc will restart and the shared memory will be increased
